Authorities are pursuing every possible lead in the search for Nancy Guthrie.
A neighbor’s doorbell camera recently captured video of a car speeding down the street around the time Nancy was reportedly taken from her home last month.
As reported by Liz Kreutz of Today, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos knows about the video and his department is currently reviewing the hundreds of hours of footage they’ve received. He wouldn’t say if they believe the car in the video is connected to the investigation.
Elias and Danielle Stratigouleas, who shared the video with Fox News, said it shows a car speeding by around 2:30 a.m. on the night Nancy disappeared from her Tucson home. This was about eight minutes after her pacemaker last connected with her iPhone, according to the FBI’s investigation.
The Stratigouleas family lives about 2.5 miles away, which is around a seven-minute drive from Nancy’s house.
In the ongoing search for the 84-year-old woman, her family has regained access to her home, including Savannah Guthrie of Today. The FBI has also adjusted its search efforts, moving some resources from Tucson to Phoenix, where its main Arizona office is located.

I was really glad to see Savannah Guthrie share details on Today about how people can submit tips about the case anonymously. It’s so important, and she and her family are offering a $1 million reward for information, so I’m hoping it helps bring things to a resolution.
Along with the video posted on February 27th, Savannah asked people to help bring her home, offering a cash reward for any tips – even anonymous ones – as detailed in a separate explanation.

Former FBI agent Bryanna Fox explained to Today that it’s typical to return a crime scene to the family once investigators believe they’ve collected all possible evidence.
According to a report in Today, a senior law enforcement official stated that part of the investigative team is being moved to Phoenix to facilitate a more efficient review of potential evidence.
Savannah is still asking the public for any information about where her mother might be.

Recently, the Today show anchor shared details on how people can anonymously submit tips about the case and potentially receive the $1 million reward offered by her and her family.
Along with the video posted on February 27th, Savannah asked for help finding her missing pet, stating that tips could be submitted anonymously and a cash reward was being offered, with details available at the provided link.

Nancy Guthrie, mother to Annie, Camron, and Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona, around 9:30 p.m. on January 31st, according to the Pima County police.

Nancy, age 84, was reported missing on February 1st after a friend noticed she hadn’t been at church that morning and alerted her family, police said. Her children searched her property for about an hour before contacting authorities and filing a missing person report around noon.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos later explained how the initial investigation unfolded at the victim’s home, involving detectives specializing in homicide cases.
We don’t usually involve the sheriff in situations like this, but the details emerging from the house are very troubling,” he said at a press conference on February 2nd. “This case was particularly unusual based on what officers reported finding at the scene.
“This isn’t how things usually work,” Nanos explained. “Normally, our homicide detectives are called out when there’s a death, a body to investigate. In this case, we sent them based solely on what the surveyors reported.”

After looking into what happened, officials stated they think a crime occurred at Nancy’s house.
During a press conference on February 2nd, Nanos stated that investigators have confirmed they are dealing with a crime scene. He asked for the public’s assistance, noting that the community has a history of helping to solve difficult cases and he hopes they will do so again.
The sheriff pointed to Nancy’s difficulty walking—she couldn’t walk even a short distance on her own—as a key reason to suspect something wasn’t right with her disappearance.
He stated definitively, “She didn’t simply leave on her own,” and explained that evidence at the location suggests she didn’t leave voluntarily.

The search for Nancy is still ongoing, and officials are concerned because she needs daily medication to stay healthy, and she likely doesn’t have it with her.
During a press conference on February 2nd, Nanos explained that an 84-year-old woman under their care is facing serious health issues and needs medication urgently. Without it within 24 hours, her condition could become life-threatening.
We’re asking anyone with information about this – if you’ve seen or heard anything at all – to please get in touch. Call 911. We want to avoid another tragedy and really need the public’s help.
I’ve been following Nancy’s health journey, and while her physical health has presented some challenges for a while now, I’m happy to share that her mind is incredibly sharp. She remains very mentally capable and engaged, which is wonderful to see.
According to Dr. Nanos, Nancy Guthrie is mentally sound and this situation isn’t related to dementia. She’s very alert and her family wants everyone to understand she didn’t simply wander away; any physical limitations are simply due to her age.
With the search for Nancy still ongoing, Nanos expressed his wish for her to come home safely.
“I hope we find her safe and sound,” he emphasized, “but we cannot ignore what’s in front of us.”

The day after Nancy was reported missing, the anchor of the Today show shared how difficult this time is for her family.
Speaking for my family, I want to express our gratitude for all the kind thoughts, prayers, and messages we’ve received,” she told NBC’s morning show on February 2nd. “Our top priority right now is bringing Nancy home safely.
She expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their efforts in the investigation and asked anyone with relevant information to reach out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Okay, so when Savannah Guthrie announced her mom, Nancy, was missing, my heart just broke for her! And honestly, seeing her Today show family immediately rally around her? It was everything. They just completely showed their support publicly, and it was so touching to watch. I mean, you could just feel how much they care about her and her family. It made me tear up, seriously!
Jenna Bush Hager shared on the February 2nd episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle that she and Nancy are close friends, saying, “We love Nancy.”
She continued, saying they were deeply thinking of Savannah and her family, and sending their prayers to everyone affected.
Meanwhile, Sheinelle Jones emphasized the importance of community during this difficult time.
She felt the show was at its strongest when it asked viewers to help, encouraging them to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s department with any information related to the case, even if it seemed insignificant.
She added, “So we’re sending our prayers but we’re also sending our collective action.”
Before concluding the segment, both hosts continued, “We love you, Savannah.”

And Sunday Today anchor Willie Geist also urged fans to keep an eye out for Nancy.
On February 2nd, he posted on Instagram asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Arizona. He also included the department’s phone number in his post.
Savannah’s former colleague, Hoda Kotb, also responded to the surprising news by posting a heartwarming photo of Savannah and Nancy together on the Today show set. In a simple message on Instagram from February 2nd, Hoda shared a red heart and praying hands emoji.

Police have labeled Nancy’s home in Arizona a crime scene, but they say there’s no reason to believe the public is at risk.
At a press conference on February 2nd, Pima County Sheriff Nanos stated that he didn’t believe there was a current danger, but emphasized that the investigation was ongoing and much work remained.
Savannah hasn’t been on Today since February 1st, when her mother was reported missing. However, local authorities have been checking in with her to make sure she’s okay.
The sheriff confirmed they had spoken with her. She has a security team that has been communicating with them all night, but they aren’t ruling anything out at this point.

On Feb. 2, Pima County police shared a series of updates on the timeline of Nancy’s disappearance.
Investigators now think the woman was likely taken from her home against her will, perhaps while she was sleeping, according to a Pima County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson on February 2nd. Detectives are investigating the possibility that she was kidnapped.

After news broke that Nancy might have been taken from her home in Arizona while she was sleeping, Savannah made a heartfelt plea.
In a recent Instagram post on February 2nd, she expressed her faith, writing, “We find strength in prayer, in coming together with love and hope, and in believing in the goodness of people and humanity. Most importantly, we have faith in God.”
Savannah continued, thanking everyone for keeping her mother, Nancy, in their thoughts and prayers. She described Nancy as a woman of strong beliefs and a devoted person, and asked for continued prayers, believing they would offer comfort and strength right now.
She added, “we need you.”
To conclude her plea, Savannah shared a Bible verse from Isaiah.
She shared a verse from Isaiah, writing, ‘He will keep those with steadfast hearts, who trust in the Lord, in perfect peace.’ She added that it’s a timeless message for everyone.
Savannah continued, “Bring her home.”

Pima County Sheriff Nanos stated that DNA evidence was discovered at Nancy’s home, which is now being treated as a crime scene.
We collected samples and are hoping they contain enough DNA to help us identify what we’re looking for,” he said in a report on NBC’s Today show on February 3rd.
Two days after Nancy went missing, Nanos explained what happened leading up to her disappearance at a press conference.
According to Nanos, the doorbell camera stopped working at 1:47 a.m., about four hours after she got back from a family visit, as she explained in a press conference on February 5th.
The software identified someone at the door, but the video was automatically deleted because Nancy didn’t pay for a subscription. However, the representative assured her they were still working to recover the footage.
The sheriff explained that Nancy’s pacemaker app lost connection with her phone at 2:28 a.m. The family found her missing at 11:56 a.m., and 911 was called to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department just three minutes later, at 12:03 p.m.
About ten minutes after that, he explained that when their patrol teams arrive at a scene, they immediately begin responding with both search-and-rescue and detective units.

On February 4th, Savannah, Camron, and Annie read letters hoping to secure their mother’s safe return. The letters were addressed to both their mom and anyone who might be holding her, and they begged for Nancy to be brought home safely.
In a video posted to Instagram, the family said they’re doing everything possible and are willing to communicate. They emphasized the ease with which videos and photos can be altered today, and stated they need absolute confirmation that their loved one is still alive and in the possession of those they are addressing.
My mom is the center of our world and everything to us,” she said. “Her health is very delicate, and she’s constantly in pain. Right now, she doesn’t have the medication she needs to stay alive and feel better.
The next day, Camron confirmed in a separate video that the family was still “waiting for contact.”
We’re asking whoever has our mother to please contact us. We haven’t received any direct communication, and we desperately need to establish a line of communication to begin resolving this.
During a press conference on February 5th, FBI agent Heith Janke announced the arrest of Derrick Callella from California. Callella is accused of sending hoax texts related to the situation, seemingly to make money from the publicity. Authorities are also investigating a detailed ransom letter shared with TMZ and consider it a serious threat. Callella has not yet entered a plea and was released on a $20,000 bond.
However, he noted, the Guthrie family was “still waiting for communication.”

On February 7th, the day officials told Today they had searched Annie’s Arizona home as a routine step in the investigation, Savannah posted a new video on Instagram suggesting they had received what they asked for.
Holding hands with Camron and Annie, she said in the video, “We understand your message, and we’re asking you to please bring our mother back so we can celebrate with her. That’s the only thing that will bring us peace.”
And if her intentions weren’t clear, Savannah added, “This is very valuable to us and we will pay.”

Investigators shared surveillance photos of a person of interest in the case on February 10th.
Footage from a camera on Nancy’s property shows someone wearing a ski mask and carrying a backpack walking up to the house. The person then appears to punch the camera, breaking it. Police had previously noted the camera was damaged when they arrived.
For the past eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been collaborating with private companies to find any lost, damaged, or hidden images and videos from Nancy Guthrie’s home. This effort was necessary because recording devices had been removed. They were able to recover the video from data still stored on the system’s servers, according to a statement shared with TopMob News.
“Working with our partners,” the note continued, “law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.”
Following the FBI’s release of video showing someone approaching Nancy’s house, investigators shared details describing the person they believe was involved.
As a dedicated follower of this case, I’ve been keeping up with the details released by the FBI’s Phoenix office. They shared on X that the person they’re looking for is a man, roughly 5’9” to 5’10” tall with a typical build. A key detail from the video is that he was carrying a black ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack – it looks like a 25-liter size.
The FBI is now offering a $100,000 reward – up from $50,000 – for information that helps find Nancy Guthrie or leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

After Savannah Guthrie’s mother had been missing for over two weeks, Pima County Sheriff Nanos released a statement to explain who authorities are looking at in connection with the 84-year-old’s disappearance.
In a statement on February 16th, authorities confirmed that the entire Guthrie family – including all siblings and their spouses – has been ruled out as suspects in this case. They emphasized the family has been fully cooperative and are themselves victims of the situation.
