For much of its history, the world of Naruto has been marked by constant war and suffering. Shinobi clans have fought amongst themselves for generations. That’s why the creation of the Hidden Leaf Village was so important – it happened because Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha worked together, setting aside their rivalry to try and create a peaceful future. Despite Madara being manipulated by Black Zetsu, the village thrived, and many other strong clans joined forces with them. In just a decade, the village built a powerful legacy, quickly becoming the strongest among all the nations.
Following the initial village’s success, other clans began building their own communities, but disagreements and fighting continued. Eventually, the Shinobi Clans united and put aside their rivalries to fight together in the Fourth Great Shinobi War against Madara and Obito Uchiha. In the decades since the first village was founded, many skilled shinobi became legendary figures.
5) Tobirama Senju

Tobirama was an incredibly powerful ninja, though the story didn’t fully showcase everything he could do. Even his mere presence was enough to make most people feel intimidated, with the notable exception of his brother, Hashirama. As a member of the famous Senju Clan, he had huge reserves of chakra and a deep understanding of basic ninja techniques. This allowed him to invent many powerful abilities, including those considered dangerous or forbidden, like the Reanimation Jutsu and the Flying Raijin technique, among others.
4) Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha was a figure feared throughout the ninja world, and the Fourth Great Shinobi War clearly demonstrated why. After awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan, his incredible chakra and mastery of various jutsu made him nearly invincible. He was a formidable opponent, capable of defeating thousands of shinobi from the Shinobi Alliance with his overwhelming power.
3) Hashirama Senju

Hashirama Senju, the first Hokage, was the only ninja ever able to truly challenge and overcome a powerhouse like Madara. He was incredibly skilled in Wood Release techniques and Sage Mode, allowing him to unleash devastating attacks that even matched Madara’s strength, even when Madara was empowered by the Nine-Tails. Beyond that, Hashirama was a master of Medical Ninjutsu, surpassing even the highly talented Tsunade in his abilities.
2) Sasuke Uchiha

Following the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Sasuke and Naruto became significantly more powerful than even the legendary Hashirama and Madara. Sasuke obtained the Rinnegan in one eye and could still use his Mangekyō Sharingan, giving him incredible speed and a diverse range of attacks. The only ninja comparable to him was Naruto Uzumaki. After the war, Sasuke left the village but continued to secretly protect it from danger.
1) Naruto Uzumaki

Throughout most of the series, Naruto didn’t have full access to Kurama’s power. However, that changed during the Fourth Great Shinobi War. Combined with his experience and skills like Sage Mode, the Rinnegan, and Shadow Clones, he became a match for Sasuke in battle. Although they’re very close in strength, Naruto ultimately has a slight edge over Sasuke.
