In an unusual connection, the secretive Hidden Leaf Village frequently appears with burgers within the Naruto series in peculiar manners. For instance, Boruto, son of the Seventh Hokage, was seen eating “lemon burgers” in certain episodes that were not part of the main storyline. It’s no secret that this popular shonen franchise has collaborated with fast food chains before to promote the Konoha brand, and now North America will experience a fresh partnership this summer. Naruto and Burger King are joining forces to offer Naruto fans exclusive merchandise from the show earlier than anticipated.
Starting from Monday, July 21st, fans of the popular anime, Naruto, will have an opportunity to visit any Burger King outlet offering these collaborations, to collect their very own figurines from the series. These figurines are part of Burger King’s “King Jr. Meals” and a wide range of ninjas are featured in this summer-themed collaboration. The figurines available include Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Rock Lee, Hinata, Neiji, Gaara, and Kakashi. However, fans looking for the adult versions of these characters may be slightly disappointed as this Burger King partnership takes us back to the original series that sparked it all. You can preview the figurines in the images provided below.
Naruto’s Burger Crossovers
In a recent partnership, North American entities aren’t the first to join forces with Burger King in France (earlier this year). Earlier, an anime collaboration occurred between them, blending two different realms. Remarkably, Burger King launched new burgers to celebrate this fusion. Across the globe, numerous Shippuden franchises have partnered with fast food chains, many of which haven’t reached the Western market. Fortunately, it seems that more dining establishments are venturing into the anime realm.
Fortunately, Boruto’s controversial “lemon burger” was not seen again after its initial appearance in non-canonical episodes of the anime series. Although Studio Pierrot has hinted at a return to the Hidden Leaf Village at some point, there is no definitive timeline for when the anime adaptation will resume. This news has left many fans disappointed, given previous statements made by the studio.
Moving forward with Boruto’s narrative, Pierrot has earlier announced their intention to revisit the Naruto original series with four fresh episodes. Although specifics about these new Naruto installments are scarce, they were initially postponed due to the animation studio requiring additional time for production. Given that Pierrot adopts a seasonal strategy for its anime ventures, it’s uncertain when Naruto will make a comeback, considering both Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and Black Clover are upcoming.
