This past weekend at Nostalgia Con 2025, Junko Takeuchi, Japanese voice actor for Naruto Uzumaki, and Maile Flanagan, her English counterpart, shared insights from their experiences with Naruto during a special panel (according to The Weeb in Texas). At one point, Takeuchi asked Flanagan about whether she knew she would also voice adult Naruto. This discussion eventually veered towards the progress of Boruto’s second part, which Takeuchi confirmed that production on the new anime is now underway.

Boruto Part 2 Gets Major Update From Naruto Star

Takeuchi was asked by Flanagan if she had begun working on the second part of “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations,” and she affirmed that she indeed has started. Laughing at Flanagan, Takeuchi hinted that there would be plenty of work ahead in the upcoming half of the anime. This news is encouraging for the series, as although it was previously announced that Boruto’s anime would continue for a second half at some point, specific details about its return have only recently surfaced.

This year, Studio Pierrot (the creators of the first part of Boruto anime) announced briefly on their website that a second part was being developed. This was the first indication about the anime’s future since the initial half of the series concluded in 2023. Now, with Takeuchi confirming that production on the new episodes is underway, we can expect it to air soon.

What’s Next for Naruto?

As of now, we don’t have a confirmed release date or timeframe for Boruto Anime Part 2. This uncertainty extends to whether its second half will adapt the sequel, “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” which follows the storyline immediately after the first anime ended.
