Today is an incredibly significant day for NASCAR enthusiasts, one that seems to have taken forever to arrive. At long last, the much-anticipated release of NASCAR 25 on PC, Xbox, and PS5 has been confirmed.
In summary, while the trailer for NASCAR 25 is short at just 12 seconds, the key point to remember is its planned release date on October 14, 2025.
In about three months from now, it won’t be right next door, but it will manage to arrive, if barely, before the season ends on November 2nd.
In the shortest trailer ever made, apart from what’s shown, there are quick peeks at just two items. One of these is the Hendrick Motorsports Number 24 car, driven by William Byon, dressed in its red Axalta paint job.
As an analyst, I’m eagerly anticipating the experience at the renowned Bristol Motor Speedway. Even though it’s just a fleeting moment during the race, both the track and the upcoming game are shaping up nicely. So far, we’ve only glimpsed a sneak peek of one NASCAR driver testing the game recently, but I remain optimistic about what’s to come.
The gameplay trailer might be released around the end of August, although a reveal at Gamescom could possibly come too soon. It’d be great to have some preview images before then, for sure.
As a devoted tech and racing fanatic, I must admit it’s been quite some time since we last had a NASCAR video game that truly captured the essence of high-speed competition. The most recent attempt, NASCAR 21: Ignition, unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations, with a different developer at the helm before iRacing secured the license.
In addition, the heightened excitement among fans is largely due to the identity of those behind its creation. iRacing offers an experience that comes as close as possible for us regular folks to racing, minus the massive budgets and fire-resistant suits.
In simpler terms, although NASCAR 25 won’t be exactly like iRacing on a console, a significant portion of the PC version’s tracks, cars, and other resources will be used in NASCAR 25. This includes the actual circuits, vehicles, and assets, which are being transferred from iRacing to NASCAR 25.
This equipment is precisely scanned using lasers, and its performance, also fine-tuned by the same team responsible for physics in iRacing, strongly suggests a top-notch user experience with no competition.
In essence, it’s important to note that NASCAR 25 is primarily designed for players who prefer using a controller. While wheel and pedal setups will also be fully supported, particularly on console systems, control through a controller is going to dominate. The game’s feel should therefore be tailored accordingly.
As I eagerly anticipate October’s arrival, it becomes increasingly clear that getting iRacing just right is crucial. The past NASCAR console experiences have offered moments of fun, yet the fanbase has been yearning for something genuinely exceptional.
