NBA’s Dillon Brooks Files Restraining Order Against Ex, Details Alleged Threats

Basketball player Dillon Brooks is trying to obtain a short-term injunction against his former partner Heather Andrews, claiming she made threats of physical violence towards him and his mom, damaged his personal items, and illegally accessed his social media platforms.

Brooks, 29, filed the request, obtained by Us Weekly, on Wednesday, June 25, in Los Angeles.

Brooks claimed that Andrews, aged 33, made threats such as “I will have your fingers severed,” “I will disclose confidential details,” and has indeed carried out the action of disseminating and publicizing personal, private information.

Recently, the Petitioner illegally accessed my OurFamilyWizard (OFW) account and sent a bogus message to herself. This fake message is now being utilized by the Petitioner as evidence in her ongoing application for a restraining order against me.

In the year 2018, Brooks and Andrews crossed paths during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas where he was competing. They are proud parents to Mila, aged 5, and Luna, aged 2. The esteemed member of the former NBA All-Defensive Team alleges that the harassment started when Andrews was pregnant with Mila, manifesting as “emotionally abusive” text messages. On certain occasions, these messages would accumulate to around 100 within a short period of just a few days.

Additionally, it is alleged that she shared their chat logs with sports publications and gossip magazines without his consent, using them as a means to humiliate and intimidate him or acquire power over him. Furthermore, some of these conversations were published on her social media platforms.

Brooks shared screenshots of some of the messages in the report, which he alleges are from Andrews.

The message says, “I’ll have someone amputate each one of your fingers, one at a time, so that you can no longer play basketball, and it makes sense now why some people are racist.” (The original message contains offensive language)

I strongly advise against moving into that house, as it could potentially be dangerous for you.”

“That condo seems risky to me, so I would seriously reconsider living there.”

In both cases, I’ve attempted to soften the original language while maintaining the intended message.

At another time, Andrews was charged with defacing Brooks’ residence. It is said that he scrawled “you suck bitch” on the outdoor fireplace mantle. Brooks presented evidence of the damage in the form of a photograph.

Brooks is requesting that the judge establish a permanent, non-contact and stay-away ruling, preventing Andrews from approaching within 100 yards of him, his residence, vehicle, or workplace. At present, he has a temporary restraining order, issued in November 2024, which expires at the end of July. It’s also noted that they are embroiled in a custody dispute.

Last season, veteran NBA player Brooks was part of the Houston Rockets team, but there are indications he might switch to the Phoenix Suns as part of a deal potentially including Kevin Durant. This transaction is projected to be concluded in July.
