NCIS And NCIS: Origins Are Crossing Over This Fall, And I’m Excited By The Premise For This Decades-Spanning Event

Previously, it was assumed that NCIS and NCIS: Origins, with their distinct timelines – one in the present day and the other in the early ’90s – would never intersect. However, you’d be surprised! The two shows are indeed set to cross over in the 2025 TV lineup this autumn. I can hardly wait to see what brings these series together!

As a die-hard fan, I’ve always wondered if time travel could miraculously materialize in the NCIS universe, allowing Austin Stowell’s younger Leroy Jethro Gibbs to jet forward to 2025 and rub shoulders with his future colleagues in Washington DC. But alas, it seems that’s not the case! In this exciting crossover happening Tuesday, November 11, we’ll witness the Origins team delving into a small-town naval officer’s death in 1992. Fast forward over 30 years, and the NCIS team will revisit this cold case. Wilder Valderrama, who brings Nick Torres to life on NCIS, and Austin Stowell are all set to unveil these thrilling details soon! Stay tuned for the big announcement!

The unexpected news about Mark Harmon’s departure from NCIS caught me off guard, but it wasn’t entirely unpleasant. Given that he left the show during Season 19 and I thought his character Gibbs wouldn’t be present, I assumed this would prevent a direct crossover with NCIS: Origins. However, it seems I was mistaken as both shows’ writers have cleverly linked them through a murder case. It’s also worth mentioning that to tell this story effectively, the order of the shows will be reversed, with the prequel airing before the main show instead of after.

More to come…
