Channel 5 has announced when its new drama, ‘The Imposter,’ will air. The show features Jackie Woodburne, known for her role on ‘Neighbours,’ and Kym Marsh, a popular actress from ‘Coronation Street‘.
This four-episode series, about a long-running and intense family conflict, will be shown on Channel 5 from Monday, December 15th to Thursday, December 18th, at 9 PM each night.
This Australian drama centers on Helen, a mother who is determined to hold onto her large beachfront hotel, even though her three grown children want her to sell it.
Just when things seemed settled, Helen’s hidden daughter appears—though her true identity is questionable. This leads to a major betrayal and, tragically, a murder.
The series features a talented cast including Dannii Minogue, known from ‘Home and Away,’ Don Hany (‘The Survivors’), Jane Harber (‘In Limbo’), Charlie Clausen (‘Prosper’), Chi Nguyen (‘Class of ’07’), Kabir Singh (‘The Tourist’), Jackson Gallagher (‘Wentworth’), and rising star Adeline Williams, alongside Woodburne and Marsh.
The Imposter began production in Victoria, Australia back in August 2025.

I was really excited when I heard about this series last July! It was announced alongside a bunch of other new titles – things like ‘Number One Fan,’ ‘Missed Call,’ and ‘The Family Secret.’ They’re also bringing back a couple of shows I already love, ‘The Hardacres’ and ‘The Teacher,’ which is great news.
According to Sebastian Cardwell, Head of Scripted at Paramount UK, these new shows demonstrate the range and creativity of 5’s original stories.
I’m really excited about what we’re doing with our dramas! We’re constantly adding fresh, gripping thrillers and mysteries with compelling characters, and we’re also bringing back shows that everyone loves. We’re working hard to create a drama lineup that’s really unique and stands out.
We’re dedicated to creating engaging and relatable British dramas for audiences throughout the UK. We’ll share more details about upcoming shows soon.
The Imposter will air from Monday 15th to Thursday 18th December on 5 at 9pm.
