Neil Newbon reveals new video game project, and you can help fund it

Neil Newbon, the actor known for playing the popular character Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, is working on a new video game and is asking fans to help support its development!

Since the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, Newbon has been incredibly active. He’s worked on several new games, started his own podcast called ‘Dungeons & Dragons & Dramas’, led the Pixel Pack initiative to highlight voice actors in gaming, travelled to events worldwide, and even sat down with us for a lengthy interview on the Arcade Hang.

Newbon is expanding his accomplishments with a new project. He shared the news on social media and is also offering fans a chance to invest.

Newbon announced on Instagram yesterday (Monday, October 6th) that they’ve joined Epic Tellers as Voice Director for their new game, Starfinder: Afterlight.

That’s correct! Newbon is directing the voice acting for the new game, Starfinder: Afterlight.

We’re thrilled to announce that Neil Newbon, known for his work on games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Resident Evil Village, is joining the project as our voice director, according to our official Kickstarter page.

Neil will oversee all aspects of voice acting for the game, including choosing the actors and directing their performances, to make sure everything aligns with the game’s overall creative direction.

Starfinder: Afterlight is a role-playing game built for fans of the Pathfinder universe. According to its Steam page, it’s a party-based adventure that immerses players in Paizo’s science-fantasy world.

Players will journey across the Pact Worlds, commanding a unique crew whose fates depend on your decisions—and ultimately, saving the galaxy!

The game is already funded, but Newbon has announced another fundraising push. The extra money will be used to hire more actors beyond the leads and supporting cast.

Honestly, Newbon’s a huge deal in gaming right now, so it’s awesome to see him directing and really championing the voice acting side of things. He’s even trying to get more money to create *more* acting roles for the project, which is just really cool to see. As a gamer, I appreciate that extra effort!

It’s still unclear if Nigel Newbon will voice the game himself, but it wouldn’t be shocking if he did – that would be a fantastic addition!

You can check out the game, an help fund it, on its Kickstarter page.

I’m super excited about Starfinder: Afterlight, and I’ll share any new info as soon as I get it. For now, check out the trailer below – it looks awesome!

Hey, if you’re not seeing the video box, it’s probably a privacy setting. I figured it out by going to the very bottom of the TopMob website – there’s a link that says ‘Manage Privacy Settings’. I clicked that, and then under ‘Site Vendors’, I made sure to check the box next to ‘YouTube’ before saving. That fixed it for me, hopefully it works for you too!
