Netflix Adding All 3 Seasons of an Underrated Thriller Too Few People Watched (& It’ll Deeply Disturb You)

Thrillers are a captivating form of entertainment, frequently combining elements of sci-fi, crime, and horror. They use unexpected plot twists and a quick pace to create strong emotional reactions in viewers – things like suspense, anticipation, and even anxiety. A truly great thriller stays with you long after the credits roll, and now, one of the most chilling and overlooked TV thrillers of the last two decades is returning to Netflix with all three seasons available.

After eight years, the series The Following, starring Kevin Bacon, is coming back to Netflix on January 3rd. It was a popular show on Netflix in the mid-2010s, but left in September 2018 to stream elsewhere. Since then, it’s been available on different platforms, including most recently The Roku Channel.

The Following Is A Great, But Unsettling Watch

The Fox series The Following, which ran from 2013 to 2015, features Kevin Bacon as Ryan Hardy, a former FBI agent. He’s brought back into service to track down escaped serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), who has built a dangerous following of devoted killers. The show was created by Kevin Williamson, known for writing the Scream franchise and creating popular series like Dawson’s Creek and The Vampire Diaries.

Most thrillers aren’t easy to watch, and that’s part of what makes them good. But The Following takes suspense to another level. It’s a truly violent and frightening show, full of shocking twists and genuinely disturbing moments. Many viewers describe it as relentlessly scary, and that’s a perfect assessment. There’s no comedic relief to break the tension, and the performances from Kevin Purefoy and Kevin Bacon are incredibly intense. The cult Purefoy’s character creates is deeply unsettling, going beyond simple darkness to create something that truly stays with you. It’s so gripping that you’ll find it hard to stop watching, even if you’re covering your eyes from the gore. Now that it’s back on Netflix, both longtime fans and new viewers can discover just how brilliant and disturbing this underrated series is.
