I’m so excited about all the new stuff Netflix is adding! Even though it’s still early, they’re already getting us ready for spooky season. This month they’ve added a ton of great movies and shows, like How to Train Your Dragon, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Zero Dark Thirty. And now, I can finally stream both movies from what I think is the best animated horror series ever – it’s awesome!
Netflix is now streaming The Addams Family and The Addams Family 2, the animated movies based on the classic Charles Addams comic strip. Both films have quickly become popular, currently ranking as the No. 3 and No. 4 most-watched movies worldwide. The voice cast includes big names like Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dogg, and Bette Midler. The first movie follows the Addams family as they try to maintain their unique lifestyle after moving to a very typical suburban neighborhood. The sequel, The Addams Family 2, features the family on a chaotic road trip across America in their spooky camper.
The Addams Family Is a Kooky Introduction to the Macabre
The Addams Family is a wonderfully spooky and fun movie that’s perfect for families, especially as an introduction to Halloween-themed entertainment. It balances creepy visuals and gentle scares – like a playfully spooky bed or Wednesday Addams’ antics – with lots of humor and a heartwarming story about a loving family. While it might not be as complex as older versions, it’s a charming way for a new generation to meet the Addams family.
The Addams Family movies aren’t just introducing the spooky and beloved family to a new audience—they also offer a fun, nostalgic experience for longtime fans. Both films capture the look and feel of the original cartoons, with animation and characters that stay true to the source material. Despite mixed reviews from critics, general audiences have enjoyed them as lighthearted, family-friendly entertainment. The first Addams Family movie currently has a 70% audience score, and the sequel, Addams Family 2, isn’t far behind with 69%.
What’s New on Netflix?
As a movie buff, I was excited to see what’s new on Netflix! They’ve added some fun titles, like The Addams Family and The Addams Family 2. My whole family will love that, and they’ve also got the first two How to Train Your Dragon movies, plus the upcoming live-action remake. If you’re into classics, they’ve brought back the Night at the Museum trilogy. And there’s even more! Throughout the month, they’ve added things like Crazy, Stupid, Love, Independence Day, Mrs. Doubtfire, You’ve Got Mail, The Black Phone, and Life After Beth. Seriously, there’s something for everyone, which is great!
