Netflix confirms One Piece season 2 is heading to cinemas for special screenings and which countries will get them

As a huge One Piece fan, I’m getting so excited! It feels like it’s almost time to set sail on the Grand Line again, and Netflix just confirmed that season 2 is heading to theaters – which is amazing news for all of us!

The first two episodes of the latest season will be shown in cinemas starting March 10th, coinciding with the release date of season 2.

The screenings will be shown in the US, Canada, and Japan at theaters like AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo, and Cineplex.

Fans have been waiting for season two of One Piece, which will follow Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they embark on a journey through the Grand Line – a famously treacherous and exciting sea.

Their quest for the legendary treasure, One Piece, will lead them to meet new people, explore exciting locations, and confront powerful enemies.

Viewers have been getting sneak peeks of the new season, and were especially excited to see Laboon, a key character and a giant whale, finally appear on screen.

The main cast – Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Skylar – are returning for the second season, and several new actors will be joining them.

This season, a mysterious group of assassins called the Baroque Works will be revealed, and they include some well-known characters.

The cast includes Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, and Lera Abova as Miss All-Sunday. David Dastmalchian will play Mr 3, Camrus Johnson will be Mr 5, Jazzara Jaslyn will portray Miss Valentine, and Daniel Lasker will play Mr 9.

Dastmalchian recently shared with TopMob that he’s excited about his take on Mr. 3, hinting that the character offers him a unique opportunity unlike anything he’s done before.

I’ve always felt a mix of fear and excitement when facing new or challenging experiences. Preparing for this role was particularly like that, as it required me to approach things from a completely different perspective than I usually do.

We’re also excited to finally see a live-action version of Chopper, brought to life with a voice performance by Mikaela Hoover.

Ready to set sail?

One Piece will arrive on Netflix – and select cinemas in the US, Canada and Japan – on 10 March.
