The winter 2026 anime season is underway, and Netflix is building excitement for its January releases. Following a fantastic year for anime in 2025, 2026 promises to be just as strong, with lots of new shows coming soon. All the streaming services will have great anime to offer, and Netflix is particularly eager to share both currently available and upcoming titles with fans.
As January 2026 gets underway and many new shows and movies are about to be released, Netflix has released a preview trailer highlighting what’s coming to the streaming service in the next few weeks. Three major titles are scheduled to debut, including one exclusive to viewers outside the United States. You can watch the new trailer, shared by Netflix, below to get a sneak peek.
New Anime Coming to Netflix in January 2026
Netflix is kicking off January with a mix of continuing series and fresh releases. Fans can look forward to new seasons of shows like Record of Ragnarok and the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece, plus the recent addition of 100 Meters. The biggest new arrival is Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2, premiering January 12th, but it will only be available in certain parts of Asia. Viewers in other regions will need to watch it on Crunchyroll.
Netflix will be adding two exciting new anime titles in January. First, on January 15th, look out for Love Through a Prism, a brand new series from the creator of the hit manga Boys Over Flowers. Then, on January 22nd, the original feature film Cosmic Princess Kaguya will debut. These additions will expand Netflix’s already impressive collection of anime for fans.
What’s New for Netflix in 2026?

The year 2026 is off to a fantastic start for anime fans, and it looks like things will only get better! Netflix has a lot planned, including the new season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run arriving this March. We’re also getting fresh installments of popular series like Dorohedoro and Baki, and Netflix hints at even more exciting releases to come.
Over the past few years, Netflix has significantly improved how it releases new anime. They used to wait weeks or even months after an anime finished airing in Japan before releasing all the episodes at once. Now, they’re increasingly releasing episodes weekly, just like other streaming services. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues through 2026.
