Though Stranger Things concluded with a heartfelt final season, fans aren’t quite finished with the show. A new documentary offering a behind-the-scenes look at season 5 is coming to Netflix.
On January 12th, a new book called One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 comes out, offering a look at how the show’s final season was made. Be warned – it’s expected to be a tearjerker!
The trailer for the upcoming documentary shows behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, and clips of them working on scripts. It highlights the challenges they faced, like struggling to write the characters’ last lines and debating what would happen to Eleven.
Martina Radwan, the documentary’s director, expressed her gratitude to the Duffer Brothers for allowing her access to their creative process and the making of the film.
It was a real honor and so much fun to spend a whole year working on set. Getting to witness the making of this popular show firsthand was a joy, and I wish I’d been able to film the earlier seasons too.

Honestly, working with the cast and crew was incredible. Everyone – and I mean everyone – was so generous with their time and stories, letting me in on a decade of making this show. The Duffer brothers are just phenomenal; they really challenge you to step up your game, and I definitely felt that! The whole experience, from their creative process to the show itself, just embodies everything I adore about filmmaking.
The Duffer Brothers shared that they grew up dreaming of making movies in Durham, North Carolina, but Hollywood seemed out of reach. That all changed when they saw the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Lord of the Rings, which gave them a realistic look at how large-scale productions are actually made.
Seeing how much pressure Peter Jackson was under while making his films actually inspired us. With fewer movies being released on physical media like DVDs and Blu-rays, those detailed behind-the-scenes looks have become rare. We wanted to recreate that experience for audiences again.
“One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5,” skillfully filmed and directed by Martina Radwan, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s creation. It’s a must-watch for fans of Stranger Things and anyone interested in how big-budget movies and TV shows are made.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things concluded with a last stand in Hawkins, as Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and the others faced off against Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower, for the final time.
The ending for one character was a bit unclear, and fans will likely be eager to find out what actually happened to them.
Get ready for one last trip back to Hawkins! Don’t forget your Eggos and Peanut Butter Boppers – it’s time for a final adventure.
You can watch all five seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix now. Plus, a new story called Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85 will be released on Netflix in 2026.
