Netflix is setting the record straight—with love.
Following reports of tension between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and the streaming service over the last five years, the company’s head of content has openly shared the current status of their relationship.
During the Next on Netflix event on March 18th, Bela Bajaria advised viewers not to automatically believe everything they read, suggesting everyone should double-check information, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Okay, so I’ve been totally tracking this, and it’s crazy! It’s been over a week since Netflix basically said goodbye to Meghan Markle’s brand, Archetypes – they were the ones who helped launch it, you know, really gave it a boost! And now, this report just dropped, confirming everything. I’m honestly a little heartbroken, I was really hoping they’d stick with it!
During the panel discussion, Bela pointed out that while new deals are often publicized, they don’t usually announce when they don’t renew agreements. She explained that this lack of announcement is understandable – there’s simply no interesting news to report when a deal isn’t extended.
The executive stated that the streaming service has a strong and positive relationship with Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41.
She stressed that they continue to work together, with several projects in the works – including new films, a documentary, and future TV and film content.
Even though there were rumors of problems with their deal with Netflix, Meghan and Harry’s first project for the company—the 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan—became Netflix’s most-watched documentary debut ever. Meghan, who previously starred in the show Suits, also created and hosted her show With Love, Meghan for two seasons before switching to producing individual episodes.
A Netflix representative denied the report in a statement to Variety, and Meghan and Harry’s lawyer, Michael J. Kump, also refuted the claims as completely untrue in a letter to the publication.

Following Netflix’s March 6th announcement that it was ending its investment in As Ever, the company clarified it was never intended to be a long-term investor in the brand.
According to a Netflix representative, Meghan was motivated by a desire to make ordinary moments more special through simple beauty, and that’s what led to the creation of her brand, As Ever. They were happy to help her realize this idea.
As planned from the beginning, Meghan will continue to develop her work and move forward on her own. We’re excited to see how she continues to make people happy around the world.

A representative for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said they are thankful for Netflix’s consistent support since they began working together in 2020.
The company has grown quickly and successfully, and is now prepared to operate independently,” a representative said in a statement to Deadline. “We’re looking forward to a great year and will be sharing more details soon.
While Meghan dedicates herself to her project, As Ever, let’s take a deeper dive into her popular series, With Love, Meghan.
Meghan Markle shared in season two that she made husband Prince Harry and his friends custom baseball hats bearing “PH40″—his initials and age—in honor of his 40th birthday in September 2024.
Before heading to Malibu with her friend Heather Dorak, Meghan talked about how she’s grown and changed since her twenties.
We initially bonded over our shared interest in health and fitness, running together regularly. Now, we’re both mothers of two children, and our husbands have become close friends as well. It’s wonderful to see how our friendship has grown and changed over time.
The former Suits star went on to share how her thoughts about aging have evolved as well.
I truly believe your 20s are for figuring things out, and your 30s are when you really start to get it together. But honestly, being in my 40s is the best part! It takes a lifetime to become fully yourself, and it’s been amazing to grow alongside other women, watching us all become more confident and comfortable with who we are, both inside and out. It’s a beautiful journey of self-discovery.
Meghan observed that she and her friends now enjoy simpler pleasures like cookies and wine, saying, ‘We’ve moved into a new phase of life.’

Meghan said she hadn’t seen a former coworker from Deal or No Deal in nearly 20 years, but they reconnected about two years ago after she reached out.
When they finally got together in season two, the pair reminisced about old times on set.
“I remember all having to stand in line,” Meghan recalled, “to get our lashes put on in a row.”
Even though they haven’t seen each other recently, Meghan Markle revealed she still follows Chrissy Teigen’s work and accomplishments.
Meghan told her, ‘After I stopped working on that show, you became really famous. I remember being so surprised to see you on the cover of Sports Illustrated… You were always so kind.’

When Meghan mistakenly pronounced Hawthorn as “Honsworth,” Chrissy playfully suggested it sounded like Meghan was announcing the name of a hidden third child.
As the Cravings cookbook author noted, “I was like, ‘You have a kid named Honsworth?'”
You know, someone mentioned a child I supposedly have, and I couldn’t help but joke that it was news to me! Honestly, if I could keep a secret that big, that would be a real talent, wouldn’t it? It was all in good fun, of course.

Harry made a quick appearance in season two with Meghan and Clare Smyth, the chef who catered their 2018 wedding. Clare had flown to California for the episode, and the three of them took a photo together with the caption, “Surprise Visit!”

Meghan, mother to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, recently described her son Archie as a remarkably sweet and loving child.
“I always wanted to be a mom,” Meghan added. “I love it. It’s better than I even expected.”

Meghan had to face the music after her move from London to California.
You know, I really miss Magic Radio from back in the U.K. – it’s honestly one of the things I think about all the time. I told Tan France that I’m totally going to be that grandma who always has it on, no matter what!
These days, she noted her playlists can range from soul to country music.
She said her favorite radio station in the car is called ‘Mom Jeans.’ It plays older songs that are perfect for singing along to – the kind you’d forgotten about.

Cooking might be one of Meghan’s love languages, but her dishes don’t always turn out egg-celent.
She shared that she made roast chicken the night her husband proposed, served it at their wedding, and still makes it weekly. She also recalled struggling to convert between Celsius and Fahrenheit when she first cooked a roast chicken for him.
You know, a friend recently told me about a cooking disaster – a truly awful chicken, she admitted! But it really struck me: it’s not always about perfection. The effort and thoughtfulness behind a home-cooked meal, even if it doesn’t turn out exactly right, is what people really appreciate. Don’t be afraid to try, even if you’re not a master chef – the gesture means so much more than a flawless dish.

During Clare’s episode, she mentioned that Harry playfully teases her for saying “herbs” without the ‘h’ – she pronounces it without the usual ‘h’ sound, which he finds very American.

The actress explained that she consulted an Ayurvedic doctor—a traditional Indian medicine practitioner—during her pregnancy. However, she told guest Samin Nosrat she had to eat a large number of dates, which she found difficult. She emphasized, “So many.”

Everyone knows Meghan Markle enjoys making jam, but she shared in the first season of her show that she really started getting serious about it after she and Prince Harry settled into their home in Montecito, California.
Oh my gosh, you guys, it was in the second episode of With Love, Meghan and she was picking berries – it was SO cute! She said the vines were already there when they moved in, and that’s actually what got her into making jam and preserves! I mean, can you even imagine? It’s just…perfect. It explains everything!
As for Meghan’s favorite preserve?
The Duchess of Sussex shared that making apple butter reminds her of her grandmother, making it a cherished tradition. She loves that her children, Archie and Lilibet, now get to experience it too. She imagines they’ll associate the smell of slow-cooked fruit with the feeling of home and the warmth of her making preserves, thinking, ‘There she is. Oh, Mom’s making some preserves again.’
In fact, Meghan said Lili has even tried her hand at preserve-making.
While serving strawberry jam in the fifth episode, she explained that she and her daughter, Lili, made it together. Lili helped pick all the berries and then insisted on doing the mashing and stirring herself. She was very proud to help, carefully pouring in the jam while staying clear of the hot parts, and that made her mom feel good too.

However, it appears Harry, who made a cameo on season one, has some culinary skills too.
Meghan revealed in episode five that her husband, affectionately known as H, is an excellent cook, especially when it comes to breakfast.
The duchess also offered some insight into how the Duke of Sussex likes to season his food.
Meghan shared that her husband has a habit of adding salt to his food before even tasting it. Because of this, she’s started using less salt when she cooks, hoping he won’t over-season his meals.

Meghan explained that she likes to combine designer items with more affordable pieces, creating a balanced and accessible look.
The actress, known for her role in Suits, described what she wore when she hosted Mindy Kaling for a tea party during the first season. She revealed she paired Zara pants with a top by Loro Piana and a sweater from Jenni Kayne.

The series not only highlights Meghan’s passion for hosting, cooking, gardening, and decorating, but also reveals some of her other hobbies and interests.
For instance, in one episode, she hosted a game night for her friends.
We’ve all been learning to play mahjong together recently,” she explained. “Mahjong originated in China in the 1800s, and we play the American version. I’ve really come to appreciate how fun the game is, but even more than that, it’s been wonderful learning something new with friends and watching our friendships grow as we play. Mahjong has become a backdrop for those connections.”
In a recent conversation, Vicky Tsai, the founder of Tatcha, mentioned that Meghan enjoys playing pickleball. Meghan also shared some of her favorite music genres.
Okay, so Meghan basically just confirmed everything I already knew was amazing about her taste! In the latest episode, she was talking about her go-to music and it’s exactly what I listen to all the time – tons of ’70s soft rock, that perfect yacht rock vibe, and soulful tunes. And then, like, the ultimate touch? French dinner party music! Seriously, she gets me. It’s like she raided my playlists!
And when it come to food, she said she has a “very, very high tolerance” for spice.
Growing up, we didn’t have much money, but my mom made sure we traveled whenever possible. She was a travel agent, and we always experienced new foods and places. I especially loved the flavorful and spicy Soul food my mom would make – things like gumbo. I still crave that kind of heat, and now I’m introducing my own family to those same bold flavors, which I really enjoy.

In the second episode of her podcast’s first season, Meghan shared that she ate a lot of fast food and TV dinners while growing up.
She recalled in the second episode that things felt very different back then, but that it was normal to have those compartmentalized, microwavable kids’ meals. Growing up, she remembered watching Jeopardy! and eating a lot of fast food.
Her favorites at the time?
Meghan shared that she used to frequently eat at Pollo Loco and Taco Bell, especially enjoying the Mexican pizza with extra hot sauce. She also mentioned Jack in the Box, as her mother was a fan of their tacos.

Meghan didn’t just share memories of her early years; she also talked about her experiences as a Girl Scout.
She shared that she was a Girl Scout for many years, starting as a Daisy when she was five or six. She remembers selling lots of cookies, and her mom was the leader of Troop 949.

Okay, so even after they stepped down as working royals in 2020 – which, honestly, I still can’t quite believe happened – Harry and Meghan still get to keep their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles! It’s like, they’re still technically royalty, even though they’re doing their own thing now. I just find it fascinating that they weren’t stripped of those titles, you know?
And in With Love, Meghan, she explained why the Sussex name is so meaningful to her.
In episode two, Meghan playfully pointed out to Mindy that she’s now known as Sussex, not Meghan Markle. She explained that having children made her realize how important sharing a family name is. She admitted she didn’t anticipate how much meaning it would hold, but saying, ‘This is our family name, our little family name,’ is incredibly special to her.

Speaking of Archie and Lili, Meghan offered a few insights into their world in the series.
The mom of two shared that her children also enjoy gardening, and they even have their own gardening tools. She said they’re really dedicated to it! She also mentioned her daughter loves the color pink and has a special song she sings while cleaning up.
Meghan shared in episode five that Lili has turned the phrase ‘clean as you go’ into a little song. She explained that Lili repeats it like this: ‘Clean as you go. Clean, clean, clean, clean, clean as you go.’
Meghan shared stories about simple pleasures with her children, like making sun tea and going fishing – Archie even caught a trout! She also expressed how much she enjoys cooking with them.
She explained in the fifth episode that she really wants her children to remember these experiences fondly and create lasting memories, like remembering her making something special with them. She hopes they’ll think, ‘Mom used to make this,’ and cherish those moments.

Long before she was an actress or a duchess, Meghan had her first job at an ice cream shop.
Oh my gosh, you guys, she told this story, and it’s EVERYTHING. Apparently, when she was just thirteen – thirteen! – her very first job was at this place called Humphrey Yogart. I mean, can you even imagine? Little Meghan, serving up frozen yogurt! It’s just…so relatable, you know? I’ve rewatched that part of episode five of With Love, Meghan like, a million times.
Later on, Meghan helped make doughnuts.
She shared in episode three that doughnuts always bring back childhood memories for her. She used to work at a small doughnut shop named Lil Orbits Donuts, where they made incredibly small, bite-sized doughnuts to sell at craft fairs, and she assisted with the work.
And when she was in college, Meghan worked at a bar in Chicago.
In episode seven, a Northwestern University graduate recounted their post-graduation plans: initially considering a simple job like coat check in Chicago to earn extra money, they were then surprised to be offered a position as a cocktail waitress.
After a customer’s complicated martini order left her flustered, Meghan said her boss told her to return to her previous job at the coat check.
In addition, Meghan shared that she used to teach people how to wrap gifts, lead book-making workshops at Paper Source, and work as a hostess at Mirabelle Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard.

In the fourth episode, Meghan hosts a gathering with Nacho Figueras’ wife, Delfina Blaquier, and shares her thoughts on her experiences living abroad.
The Duchess shared that she fell in love with Argentina because it felt similar to California – with its mountains and a vibrant, outdoorsy lifestyle. Although she was only there for a few months as an intern at the U.S. embassy, she really enjoyed her time there.

Oh my gosh, I still remember when Meghan got the part of Rachel Zane on Suits! It was back in 2011, and she’s talked about how incredible it was finding out she’d be moving to Toronto to film the show. It must have been a dream come true! I mean, that role made her, and she’s always said how much that time meant to her. I just love hearing about how it all started!
She explained that when the show was picked up, filming would be in Toronto. ‘So, one season in Toronto – that’s great. Then two seasons… I started to wonder if I’d be living there now,’ she said. ‘Luckily, I love Canada, and I made an effort to have the cast and people I met – even those I met at the dog park with my dog – visit.’
In fact, her costar Abigail Spencer appears in one of the With Love, Meghan episodes.

In January 2025, Meghan announced her beloved dog, Guy, passed away.
The cute beagle appeared in multiple episodes of the Netflix show, and Meghan had previously shared how much she loved him.
She confessed in episode four that she’d do anything for Guy, and he’s well aware of it. She explained that he’s incredibly adaptable, becoming exactly what she needs – sometimes sweet, sometimes playful, sometimes a little mischievous, but always someone she indulges.
And he was always by her side.
She explained that Guy is always by her side, like a constant companion. They’ve been together for a very long time – ever since she lived in Toronto. He was originally found in the woods in Kentucky and has since traveled with her to the U.K., back to Canada, and then to California. She believes he has quite a life story to share.
After the season one finale, Meghan shared that the show was dedicated to the memory of Guy.
