Enthusiasts of the hit series Stranger Things should make sure their calendars are free for July 16th. This upcoming Wednesday, Netflix will unveil a sneak peek at the fifth and final season, marking the start of a flurry of pre-release content before the grand conclusion. The much-anticipated Stranger Things Season 5 is set to arrive in three installments: first on November 26th, then on December 25th, with the final episode debuting on December 31st. Patient fans have eagerly awaited the show’s comeback, and for some, the upcoming months may still feel like a drawn-out anticipation. However, come Wednesday, we’ll start to find out if the wait was worth it.
On this past Tuesday, our post showcased a fresh poster displaying a somber scene of Hawkins, Indiana. The town appears engulfed by flames and ominous red smoke, merging into a turbulent sky where the visage of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) dominates overhead. In the foreground, our primary characters are seen pedaling their bikes along a misty trail. As indicated in Netflix’s tagline for the season, it seems our heroes will be on a mission to track down Vecna, while the military is poised to enter Hawkins with the aim of finding Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
Numerous viewers joked about the show while expressing their eagerness for the final episode. Stranger Things, however, encountered significant delays due to both the COVID-19 pandemic and 2023 Hollywood labor strikes. Delays of several years can be particularly detrimental to a series heavily dependent on its child actors. Actors like Brown, who were meant to portray teenagers, are now in their early twenties, leading some spectators to anticipate difficulty accepting them as their characters due to their age progression.
I’ll rephrase it for you: It’s not likely that we’ll have to wait too long for Season 5 of Stranger Things, at least not for everyone. Filming took place from January to December in 2024, and post-production has been ongoing throughout this year. Fans had to bide their time with Season 4 in the summer of 2022, and before that, Season 3 was released in 2019. The delays have sparked plenty of jokes, but many fans find the extended anticipation enjoyable.
Back in January, Netflix revealed a poster for the fifth season of Stranger Things. A few snippets of additional footage were shared in May when the premiere dates were announced. However, it’s uncertain if we’ll see another teaser on Wednesday or how many more trailers will be released in the coming months. Many viewers have expressed their intention to rewatch all seasons before then, so excitement levels are expected to reach new heights.
The first sneak peek for Stranger Things Season 5 will be released online this coming Wednesday. The season kicks off on November 26th, with part 2 following on December 25th. The series concludes on December 31st, 2025.
