The upcoming autumn TV season is almost upon us, and CBS’ fall 2025 lineup is bursting at the seams with fresh and returning programs. With fans buzzing for the debut of Survivor 49 and the premiere of the highly-anticipated Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue, cord cutters who have been patiently waiting for their favorite shows to become available on streaming platforms can finally rejoice. Several months after concluding its third season, the second installment of one of CBS’ popular dramas is at last making its way onto Netflix.
Starting this Friday, you can watch the second season of “Fire Country” on Netflix, which means all 10 episodes of this show’s second installment are now accessible on the platform. Originating from the Eye Network and co-created by Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, and Max Thieriot (who also plays the protagonist Bode Donovan), “Fire Country” is about a young offender who seeks redemption by joining a firefighting program in Northern California. Partnered with elite firefighters to combat massive, unpredictable wildfires throughout the region, he aims to shorten his prison sentence. The series debuted in October 2022 and quickly gained popularity on both CBS and Netflix, where it consistently appeared on the Top 10 TV Shows list for several weeks after joining the streaming service last summer.
As a devoted film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the second season of our favorite series hit Netflix over a year since its final episode in May 2024. The storyline resumes six months after the climactic ending of Season 1, where Bode chose to bear the burden for the drugs uncovered at Three Rock, landing him back behind bars and readjusting to prison life.
In the opening scene of Season 2, tensions run high when a powerful earthquake shakes Edgewater, prompting the brave Station 42 team to leap into action. The premiere episode unfolds with the crew’s heart-pounding response to this natural disaster, leaving us on the edge of our seats!
Even though it’s still uncertain if Season 2 will match the success of Season 1 on Netflix, it surpassed Fire Country’s freshman run in various aspects, such as viewer ratings. On Rotten Tomatoes, for instance, the season received an audience score of 79%, while Season 1 only managed a 44% rotten rating.
As of now, it’s uncertain if Fire Country Season 3 will become available on Netflix or when that might happen. The season ran for 20 episodes from October 2024 to April 2025. Interestingly, the series has been renewed for a fourth season, which is scheduled to debut on CBS on October 17 this year. A spin-off titled Sheriff Country premiered earlier in the year. Unfortunately, neither of these shows can be found streaming on Netflix at the moment.

Season 2 of “Fire Country” is one of many fresh shows now available on Netflix as of August 1st.
