Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has arrived and is already breaking records as the highest-rated anime of all time! The first season was beloved for its story and beautiful animation, and fans are excited to see what challenges await the main characters this time around. As one of the year’s most popular anime, people are eagerly awaiting new episodes on streaming services. However, Netflix Anime has announced that the new season will initially only be available in certain parts of Asia, without specifying exactly which countries. Viewers in the US may be able to watch a few weeks later, potentially after all the episodes have aired.
The anime’s second season will be available on the streaming platform where the first season is already available, though it might take a while to arrive. New episodes will premiere on Crunchyroll every Friday at 7:00 AM Pacific Time, shortly after they air in Japan, starting January 16th, 2026. This schedule currently applies only to the subtitled version; a dubbed version hasn’t been announced. The second season is planned to have 10 episodes, and it’s currently unknown if there will be a second part.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 Continues The Main Trio’s Journey

I’ve heard the second season of the anime will be a bit shorter than planned, but it looks like they’ll definitely cover the Continued Northern Travels and Divine Revolte arcs. We pick up with Frieren and her companions continuing their trek north, now that Fern has officially become a First-Class Mage. Apparently, the journey ahead is particularly dangerous, and only groups with a mage of that caliber are permitted to pass through. The season starts with the trio finding themselves short on money and deciding to look for work in the next town they reach.
During a camping trip, Frieren finds a special crystal that blocks magic, and she realizes it could be sold for a lot of money. Soon, the group finds a cave filled with these crystals, but they completely drain Frieren and Fern’s magical abilities. Because magic is needed to easily mine them, the crystals are very expensive. The episode also follows Stark, who accidentally walks in on Frieren and Fern bathing and feels incredibly embarrassed.
Fern worries that traveling with Stark and the other person might be difficult, but it actually turns out to be surprisingly easy. She thinks she had to convince Stark to come along, but he chose to join her willingly. They also run into Wirbel and his friends, and Wirbel tries to get Stark to join his group, but Stark declines.
