Netflix Hypes Major Shonen Jump Anime’s Return for Season 2 With New Trailer

I’m so excited about all the new anime Netflix is bringing out this year! They’re gearing up for another big release based on a Shonen Jump series, and just dropped a trailer for the second season – it looks amazing! Netflix has already given us some fantastic anime this year, but honestly, the rest of the year looks even better. We’re getting a new season of one of my favorite franchises this fall, and I can’t wait!

The anime adaptation of Koji Miura’s Blue Box premiered last winter and was quickly renewed for a second season. A new trailer and poster for Blue Box Season 2 were revealed at AnimeJapan 2026, giving fans the best look yet at what’s to come. The series is confirmed to be released on Netflix this fall and hints at major events for the character Chinatsu.

When Does Blue Box Season 2 Come Out?

Season 2 of Blue Box will premiere in Japan on October 4th. While Netflix hasn’t announced a specific date for streaming the new episodes, they’ve said it will be released sometime in October. There are also some changes happening with the production team. Daisuke Sako is taking over as director from Yuichiro Yano, who directed the first season, and Electric Circus will now handle the animation instead of Telecom Animation Film.

Yuki Kakihara is returning to write the scripts, and Miho Tanino will once again handle the character designs. Many of the original voice actors are also reprising their roles, including Shoya Chiba as Taiki Inomata, Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano, Akari Kito as Hina Chono, Chiaki Kobayashi as Kyo Kasahara, Yuma Uchida as Kengo Haryu, Shogo Sakata as Ryosuke Nishida, and Anna Nagase as Nagisa Funami, with more returning cast members to be announced.

What’s New for Blue Box Season 2?

Season 2 of Blue Box continues the story immediately after the first season, with Chinatsu and Taiki’s relationship developing. However, Chinatsu will face new difficulties when someone from her past returns. Yoshino Aoyama joins the cast as Yumeka Kido, and her arrival is set to disrupt Chinatsu’s life, making the new season a must-watch for fans.

Koji Miura announced late last year that the Blue Box manga is approaching its conclusion, though the exact ending date remains unknown. With the manga progressing well and the anime returning for more episodes this October, it’s an exciting time for fans of Blue Box.
