As a Netflix subscriber, I’ve noticed a real issue with their content. They’ve made tons of original shows, but most of them don’t have enough episodes to really keep me hooked for very long. We saw how big Suits became a few years ago – having those long-running shows that you can really get invested in seems crucial for streaming services. The problem is, Netflix has lost a lot of shows like that over time, and unfortunately, another one is leaving the platform soon.
The TV show Supernatural will be removed from Netflix after December 17th. It’s been a hugely popular show for many years and is known as one of the longest-running hits on television.
Netflix is removing all 327 episodes of Supernatural next week. While it might not be as widely popular as The Office, Supernatural has a very dedicated fanbase, and losing such a large number of episodes feels like a major blow for Netflix subscribers.
Netflix is having a hard time finding a show to replace Supernatural because very few series in that genre have such a lasting impact and a large number of episodes.
Good news for fans of Supernatural: while the show is leaving Netflix, it’s becoming available on two other streaming services. All episodes are now on Prime Video, and will also be added to Peacock after the Netflix deal ends.
What Else Is Leaving Netflix?
Next week, fans will no longer be able to stream Supernatural on Netflix. It’s leaving the platform along with other CW series like Arrow and The 100. In the coming weeks, Netflix will also remove Mr. Robot and Tacoma F.D. from its library.
At the end of the month, Netflix will remove a lot of popular movies and shows that many people enjoy watching. While Netflix hasn’t published the full list of what’s leaving, titles are now marked with a “Leaving Soon” notice, and we’ve highlighted some of the biggest ones below.
Here’s a list of popular movies: 10 Things I Hate About You, 12 Strong, 8 Mile, Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom, Baby Driver, Battleship, Blue Beetle, Captain Phillips, Chicken Run, Coach Carter, Cowboys & Aliens, Crazy Rich Asians, Despicable Me 4, Dirty Dancing, Doctor Sleep, Elvis, Fifty Shades of Grey, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Hulk, Idiocracy, Inside Man, Kung Fu Panda, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Mad Max: Fury Road, Ocean’s 8, Paddington 2, Ready Player One, Robin Hood, Scarface, Shark Tale, Sinister, Sister Act, Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tenet, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, The Goonies, The Hangover, The Karate Kid, The Land Before Time, The Mask, Training Day, Transformers, and We’re the Millers.
