Netflix Is Finally Getting Some Spider-Man Movies Back

As a cinephile, I must say that this year, Netflix had been my go-to spot for all things Spider-Man. The Sam Raimi trilogy, the two Amazing Spider-Man films, and even the highly acclaimed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse were all readily available on this streaming platform. However, in a swift turn of events during the summer months, these six web-slinging movies mysteriously vanished from Netflix’s library, leaving us without our beloved wall-crawler.

But fear not, fellow Spidey fans! Come September, the friendly neighborhood superhero will once again grace our screens on Netflix. So mark your calendars and get ready to swing back into action with some classic Spider-Man movies.

In the latest September newsletter, it was announced that Netflix is planning to reintroduce two of its earlier Spider-Man movies featuring Andrew Garfield as the web-slinging hero. Starting from September 1st, viewers will have another opportunity to enjoy these films and spend time with their favorite character, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, once again.

On Monday, both “The Amazing Spider-Man” and its sequel, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” will reappear on Netflix’s lineup. However, no other Spider-Man movies are planned to follow suit. Given the frequent shifts in streaming services for the Toby Maguire-led Spider-Man trilogy, it’s possible that these films may return again in the future.

Currently, only Marvel movies featuring characters from Sony’s former Spider-Man universe can be found on Netflix. Titles such as Madame Web, Venom: The Last Dance, and Kraven the Hunter are still available for streaming on the platform.

What’s Coming to Netflix in September?

In early September, Garfield’s Spider-Man duology could be a standout addition to Netflix’s lineup, but it won’t be the only major titles joining on the first day of the month. On September 1st, Netflix will also introduce popular movies such as Shrek, Billy Madison, Bridesmaids, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Inglorious Basterds, and many more.

Below, you’ll find a comprehensive list of titles being added to Netflix on September 1st. For a more detailed overview of all the titles joining Netflix in September, check out the full calendar available here.
