Netflix Is Finally Streaming 2025’s Best Anime Movie

I’m so excited for the new year, and Netflix is kicking it off perfectly by adding what I think is the best anime movie of 2025 to its lineup! Last year was incredible for anime – we got amazing TV shows and anime really took over the box office, becoming some of the year’s biggest hits. Now, we’re getting a chance to see a fantastic movie that maybe didn’t get enough attention in theaters, and I can’t wait!

Starting in late 2025 and continuing into 2026, Netflix is now offering the anime film 100 Meters for streaming. It’s based on a manga by Uoto, who also created the popular Netflix anime series Orb: On the Movements of the Earth. Many viewers praised the film’s stunning animation when it was released last year, and now it’s available to a wider audience on Netflix.

Why You Should Watch 100 Meters on Netflix

The Japanese animated film 100 Meters, directed by Kenji Iwaisawa and produced by Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain with support from Pony Canyon, TBS TV, and ASMIK Ace, had a limited release in the United States last fall after premiering in Japan the previous September. Written by Yasuyuki Muto, with character designs by Keisuke Kojima and music by Hiroaki Tsutsumi, the film has been critically praised for its unique artistic style. However, it didn’t achieve the same level of mainstream success as other animated releases last year.

Now more people will have a chance to see 100 Meters, and it’s sure to stand out when compared to last year’s biggest hits. The film features amazing scenes you won’t want to miss, and it’s clear the filmmakers put a lot of effort and care into every detail. Definitely add it to your watchlist!

2025 Was a Huge Year for Anime in Theaters

2025 was a landmark year for anime in theaters. Films like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle—which became the highest-grossing international film ever in the U.S.—and Chainsaw Man were huge hits. The year saw a consistent stream of successful anime releases, opening up many opportunities for theatrical distribution.

We can expect to see a lot more anime movies in theaters going forward, with films like 100 Meters leading the way. Plus, thanks to streaming services like Netflix, these films have a great chance of reaching even wider audiences who can watch them at home.
