With 2025 ending and 2026 beginning, Netflix has announced some unwelcome changes for subscribers. Many streaming contracts will expire, causing the service to lose a number of popular movies and shows. Specifically, over 40 currently available films will be removed from Netflix on January 1st.
Netflix announced in its January newsletter that a lot of movies and shows will be leaving the service on January 1st. That means December 31st is your last chance to watch them! Many subscribers might be surprised by how many titles are going away, particularly since a lot of them are fan favorites.
Several popular movies will be removed from Netflix in January, including Baby Driver, Doctor Sleep, The Goonies, The Hangover, Kung Fu Panda, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Training Day. A lot more titles will also be leaving, so if you want to watch these or others, be sure to do so in December before they’re gone.
As a huge TV fan, I’m really bummed to hear Netflix is losing some great shows. It’s not just smaller things either – all six seasons of Lost are going to be pulled! And it doesn’t stop there. Mr. Robot, House of Lies, and even Prison Break are disappearing in January. Honestly, it feels like a real blow, especially since Supernatural and Arrow are about to leave too. It’s getting harder and harder to keep up with where to watch everything!
