2026 promises to be a great year for anime, with highly anticipated seasons like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2. While Crunchyroll is the go-to for most new episodes, Netflix offers a different experience with both classic and original anime series and films. Netflix constantly updates its selection, adding new content each month, but also occasionally removes titles. Each anime on the platform stands out with its unique story, setting, and animation style, showcasing the creativity of modern anime. However, viewers shouldn’t assume everything will remain available indefinitely.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of their favorite shows in Spring 2026, and Netflix has a lineup of new series planned for April of that year. However, along with the new content, Netflix will be removing over 100 original series from its streaming platform, according to What’s on Netflix. This includes several highly-rated anime shows, such as the critically acclaimed Mob Psycho 100.
What Is Mob Psycho 100 About?

This show is adapted from a popular and award-winning manga series by the creator of One-Punch Man. It centers on Shigeo Kageyama, nicknamed Mob, a middle school student with powerful psychic abilities that he’s trying to keep secret. Despite his efforts, Mob often struggles to control his powers. To help manage them, he turns to Arataka Reigen, a self-described spiritual advisor who sees Mob’s abilities as a way to further his own goals.
Even though Arataka wants Mob to keep fighting evil spirits, problems just keep coming up for him. The first season of the anime will no longer be available on the streaming platform after May 22nd, 2026, but you can still watch it on Crunchyroll.
Why Is Mob Psycho 100 Being Removed From Netflix?

Shows and movies are usually taken off streaming services when the licensing agreements run out. Sometimes, platforms also remove less-watched titles to save money and keep their library at a manageable size. While licenses can be renewed, it’s impossible to predict if or when a particular anime will be available again.
Netflix is taking down more than a hundred titles this year, including several anime series like Mob Psycho and Sirius the Jaeger. While many shows are leaving, there’s optimism Mob Psycho 100—a highly popular and critically acclaimed anime—might return to the platform eventually, though it could be a while.
