Netflix is updating its selection of movies and shows soon. As October begins, new content will be added, but some popular titles will also be removed from the streaming service.
As a movie and TV buff, I always check out Netflix’s monthly updates, and their October newsletter just dropped. While there’s a bunch of fresh content coming, it also brings the usual bummer: a list of shows and movies leaving the service. Most of these titles will be gone by October 1st, so if you’ve been meaning to catch anything on the list, now’s the time!
Many popular movies will be removed from Netflix in early October, so September 30th is your last chance to watch them. Expect to see a lot of action and comedy titles disappear from the service.
Several action movies will be removed from Netflix in October, including all of the Mission: Impossible films. David Lynch’s Dune and The Departed are also leaving, resulting in a significant loss of action titles.
Netflix added a lot of popular comedies from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s this summer, but many of them will be removed in October. Some of the movies leaving include classics like Wayne’s World, Dazed and Confused, Big Daddy, A Night at the Roxbury, Good Burger, The Blues Brothers, American Pie, Road Trip, and Billy Madison.
You can take a look at the full list of Netflix’s October 2025 departures below.
