Although fans were hoping for a new season, they’ll be happy to know they can finally own the show on disc, ensuring it won’t be suddenly taken away. The creators, Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski, have announced the disc will be available in early December, with commentary included, and it’s currently scheduled for release on December 2, 2025.

What makes this release special is that it’s rare for a Netflix show – or most streaming shows, for that matter – to be released on physical media like Blu-ray or DVD. The set will include all eight episodes of *Scott Pilgrim Takes Off*, plus behind-the-scenes commentary and bonus features. It’s probably no coincidence that this home video release is happening now, as Netflix may have been less inclined to do it if the show were continuing with a second season.

The new series, *Scott Pilgrim Takes Off*, brought back the original cast of Edgar Wright’s 2010 film, *Scott Pilgrim vs. the World*. Though fans often hoped for a sequel, one never happened. Instead, *Scott Pilgrim Takes Off* unexpectedly continued the story, with Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, and other familiar faces reprising their roles. The series acts as both a reimagining and a continuation of the original movie.

Sometimes you have to make a public statement online, even knowing it will likely be sensationalized in clickbait headlines. Yes, that show only lasted one season and won’t be getting a second – despite not even being requested. While *SPTO* is finished, *Scott Pilgrim* will return eventually, but I can’t say when or how.
