For many fans, Stranger Things is a cultural phenomenon, but it surprisingly hasn’t had many video games based on it. That’s about to change! A new game is coming this summer, letting players battle the show’s most iconic monsters in a unique and unexpected way.
Raw Thrills is releasing Stranger Things Arcade this summer, and it looks fantastic! (according to Arcade Heroes). This massive arcade cabinet – measuring 118 x 94 x 104 inches – lets 1 to 4 players team up to fight creatures like Demogorgons and Vecna as they navigate Hawkins. The game uses a precise ball-sensing system and a large video screen, and players score points by hitting targets with foam balls in a fast-paced, action-packed adventure. You can find more details and pictures of the cabinet below.

Stranger Things Jumps to the Arcades, But Not How You Might Expect

Most arcade games like this have a gun or blaster for shooting enemies, but that wouldn’t really work for a Stranger Things game unless it focused entirely on Nancy and Hopper. This new system makes more sense for the game’s theme, and so far, we know you’ll be able to play as Max, Mike, and Will, though the full character list hasn’t been revealed yet.

The screenshots show glimpses of the battles you’ll face in the game, and they come in a variety of styles. The two battles against the Demogorgon seem to be typical encounters: the Demogorgon attacks while targets with different point values appear on screen.
The game features several different types of scenes. One shows Demodogs attacking at Cianchetti Pizza, bursting out of an arcade game with the word “help” flashing in green. It’s unclear if this is a unique scene type or just a variation of the usual combat. We also see sequences designed for larger enemies like Vecna, and hints that you’ll eventually battle the Mind Flayer. There are also cinematic cutscenes, including one of Vecna attacking Eleven. You can find more details in the official description.

Raw Thrills’ new arcade game, Stranger Things Arcade, brings the excitement of the popular Netflix series to life for 1-4 players! Get ready for a thrilling, family-friendly adventure where you’ll battle iconic monsters like the Demogorgon and Vecna by throwing balls. Featuring familiar characters, locations, and the show’s spooky music, this game is built to be reliable and offers incredibly precise ball tracking. Join the crew in Hawkins and prepare for an electrifying experience!
