Netflix Users Only Have Hours Left Before the Best Sci-Fi Blockbuster of the 2010s Is Gone

It’s frustrating when movies leave streaming services, and it happens all the time. Along with rising costs, this is a major downside of streaming – you find something you love, and then it’s suddenly gone. This weekend, sci-fi fans will be affected, as a popular 2013 film is being removed from Netflix.

Okay, fellow movie lovers, heads up! If you’re planning a Pacific Rim marathon, you’ve got until Halloween – October 31st – to watch it on Netflix. Guillermo del Toro’s giant robot vs. monster flick is leaving the streaming service on November 1st, and honestly, it’s going to leave a pretty big hole in my sci-fi watchlist. Just wanted to give you all a chance to catch it before it’s gone!

If you’re hoping to watch Pacific Rim on Netflix, you’ll need to do so quickly! The movie will be removed from the streaming service at 3 a.m. Eastern Time on November 1st, which is midnight Pacific Time. You might need to adjust your Halloween plans to fit it in.

As a huge del Toro fan, the news of his departure is particularly disappointing, especially since his new film, Frankenstein, is coming to Netflix on November 7th! It had a limited run in theaters, but now more of us will get to see it, and hopefully add another masterpiece to his filmography. It’s exciting that this is his second original movie for Netflix, following his Oscar-winning Pinocchio a couple of years back – I’m really looking forward to it.

Currently, it’s unclear when or where you’ll be able to stream Pacific Rim again. While it will likely be available to rent or buy digitally, and you can always purchase a physical copy, it hasn’t been added to any major streaming services’ lineups for November.
