With the Winter 2026 anime season wrapped up, fans are looking forward to the new shows coming this spring. As usual, Crunchyroll is leading the way with a strong lineup, and most of these new series will be available to stream there. While Crunchyroll adds a lot of anime each season, Netflix typically releases anime monthly, often including older, newly licensed titles. A major highlight on Netflix is the Baki franchise, a popular martial arts anime adapted from Keisuke Itagaki’s manga.
The anime series returned in February with a new story, releasing all 13 episodes of Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai. It quickly became a hit, gaining over 3.4 million views in its first four days and becoming one of Netflix’s most popular anime releases this year. Due to this success, Netflix Anime officially announced that a second part is in development.
When Is Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai Out?
Netflix hasn’t announced when the new season will be released, but we should hear something later this year. A short teaser trailer has been released, offering a sneak peek at the story. The teaser’s description says the anime is coming soon, and based on how long previous seasons took to release, we can expect it within a year or two. A new promotional image was also shared on the anime’s official X account to build excitement.
What Is Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai About?

This anime is a continuation of the Baki Hanma series, which was originally a manga published in two parts between 2014 and 2023. Although the manga has finished, the anime has only covered the beginning of the story so far. The first Baki Hanma anime, which aired two seasons from 2021 to 2023, was highly praised for its compelling story and focus on martial arts. Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai picks up with the main character after he’s become the World’s Strongest Boy, but finds himself feeling restless and unfulfilled.
Baki has resolved his conflict with his demonic father, but he’s been unchallenged ever since. As the reigning champion in the Kourakuken Underground Arena, he finds his opponents too weak to provide a real fight. This peace doesn’t last, though, as a new danger emerges when it’s revealed that the legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto has been successfully cloned.
This renowned warrior travels to Tokyo seeking strong opponents to push his skills to the absolute limit. He rapidly gains recognition due to his incredible talent, defeating challengers as he rises through the ranks. Though in a strange land and time, his only focus is overcoming Baki’s allies, ultimately leading to a confrontation with the champion himself. Baki is thrilled to face such a formidable new rival, but soon realizes this challenge will be unlike anything he’s experienced before.
