Netflix has become known for its original shows and movies, but not everything they produce reaches the popularity of hits like Stranger Things. Many series struggle to last beyond their first few seasons. One sci-fi show, which started as a *Groundhog Daystyle story and evolved into a complex time travel adventure, managed to run for two seasons. Although a third season was never officially announced, leading fans to believe the show was finished, the lead actress recently hinted at the possibility of it returning.
Natasha Lyonne, known for her roles in Russian Doll and Poker Face, recently told The Hollywood Reporter she’s committed to bringing Russian Doll back for another season. She plans to follow a similar pattern to David Lynch’s Fire Walk With Me and Twin Peaks: The Return, releasing a new installment after a period of time. While she doesn’t have a specific timeline, she’s actively working on it between other projects, including finishing some drafts and writing a memoir. She assured fans that it’s ‘incoming’ and ‘in process.’
Russian Doll’s Poker Face
Last year, Leslye Headland, the creator of Russian Doll, gave an update on a possible third season. She admitted she wasn’t sure what would happen, saying she hadn’t received any news from Netflix. She speculated that Natasha Lyonne’s work on Poker Face might be affecting the timing, but ultimately, she just hadn’t heard anything definitive, though she believes a third season is still a possibility.
Many fans are disappointed to learn that Poker Face, the popular series starring Natasha Lyonne, has been cancelled by Peacock. While creator Rian Johnson is looking for a new home for the show, Natasha won’t be returning as the lead. Instead, Peter Dinklage, known for Game of Thrones, will be taking on the main role, and Natasha has publicly expressed her support for him.
I really love Peter Dinklage! Game of Thrones is a favorite show of mine, but he’s also one of my favorite people. Things are going well, and I’m finally ready to start directing movies – I’ve been talking about it for a while! I’m very thankful for the TV directing and writing I’ve already done, and I truly enjoy my work. Time is passing quickly, so I need to make these movies happen. I’m also excited about a new sci-fi show I’m working on with Matt Berry called Force & Majeure. Right now, I need to get back to the writers room to finish the finale, as we start filming in September.
