Netflix is adapting Emily Henry’s popular novel, People We Meet on Vacation, for the first time, and early reactions are positive. Henry has quickly become a leading romance author, with her 2020 book, Beach Read, hitting the New York Times bestseller list. People We Meet on Vacation followed suit a year later, and Netflix soon began developing a movie adaptation starring Tom Blyth, known from The Hunger Games, and Emily Bader of My Lady Jane.
The new movie is starting Netflix’s 2026 film lineup with a lot of promise. Early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes give it an impressive 87% rating, based on 15 reviews. Although this score could change, it’s a fantastic start for Henry’s first movie adaptation.
People We Meet on Vacation will be released on Netflix on January 9, 2026.
