Netflix’s Hardest Hitting Anime Has Cast Its Next Big Villain

Netflix has a growing collection of popular anime, including exclusive series like Sakamoto Days, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Delicious in Dungeon. While new shows come and go, the Baki Hanma anime has consistently performed well since its arrival. The next season, coming next year, will introduce a formidable new villain who promises to be Baki’s greatest challenge yet – even tougher than his last fight, which was already quite a battle.

After Baki finally beat his father, Yujiro Hanma, he’s now considered the strongest being on Earth. Fans were eager to see who could possibly challenge him. Thankfully, the series creator, Keisuke Itagaki, decided to bring back a legendary figure from Japan’s history: Miyamoto Musashi. In the next installment, Baki-Dou, Musashi will be voiced by Naoya Uchida, a well-known and respected anime voice actor.

Naoya Uchida: The Ultimate Anime Villain

Naoya Uchida is a highly experienced voice actor known for playing villains in many popular anime. He voiced Madara Uchiha in Naruto: Shippuden, a major antagonist threatening the Hidden Leaf Village, and Askeladd in Vinland Saga, the character who killed Thorfinn’s father. Beyond those roles, he’s also been in prominent parts in series like Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Hunter x Hunter, Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor, and Death Note. With such a strong background, Uchida is sure to be a great addition to the cast of Baki.

For decades, Baki The Grappler has been a popular anime series, and its creator, Keisuke Itagaki, is still actively working on it. While avoiding spoilers, Itagaki has planned a new powerful enemy for Baki Hanma after his recent fight. Currently, the manga focuses on Baki’s brother, Jack Hanma, and his journey to regain his honor after several defeats. With both sons of Yujiro Hanma heading towards a showdown, this manga arc suggests we’ll likely see more Baki anime seasons following Baki-Dou. Given the show’s consistent success and high ratings on Netflix – often outperforming other original anime – it’s highly probable that the upcoming episodes won’t be the last.
