Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga. Following the popularity of the One Piece live-action series on Netflix in 2023, a second season will premiere on March 10th, 2026. Titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, the new season will follow the Straw Hat Pirates as they begin their voyage into the dangerous Grand Line. The story picks up after the Arlong Park Arc and will cover several arcs – Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island – across eight episodes. The Alabasta arc will then be adapted in Season 3.
With Season 2 almost here, a new trailer has been released featuring Tony Tony Chopper. Chopper, a fan-favorite character, will appear in the Drum Island Arc. While newcomers to the live-action series may not know him well yet, manga and anime fans have loved Chopper for his important role in the story. The trailer also includes a surprising moment between Chopper and Luffy.
One Piece Live-Action Changes The First Meeting Between Luffy and Chopper

Chopper is introduced during the Drum Island arc as the apprentice of Dr. Kureha, the island’s only independent doctor. After a dangerous encounter, Luffy, Sanji, and Nami manage to reach the castle. Once there, Luffy and Sanji, who had collapsed from exhaustion and injuries, wake up and are surprised to find Chopper before them. Thinking he’s some kind of animal, they chase him around the castle, causing a lot of trouble.
There’s a funny moment where Luffy tries to eat Chopper, but Sanji steps in, wanting to cook him instead! This is when Chopper unexpectedly reveals he can talk, which scares the pirates and saves him from becoming dinner – it’s a really memorable scene. However, the trailer shows a different version of events: Luffy is curious about Chopper’s appearance right away, and Sanji isn’t even present. Also, this encounter doesn’t happen immediately after Luffy wakes up, unlike in the original story.
While the upcoming season won’t be a perfect copy of the source material, many details will be different. The first season already took liberties with the original story, changing and removing scenes. So, even though the live-action adaptation stays true to the overall story, viewers should expect plenty of changes in Season 2.
