Get ready to return to the high seas! Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece is coming soon, and like the first season, it will be packed with hidden details and nods to Eiichiro Oda’s incredible world of pirates and creatures. However, changing the established story of One Piece is a delicate task.
In the first season of One Piece on Netflix, a surprising reveal established Vice Admiral Garp as Monkey D. Luffy’s grandfather and a key figure in Luffy’s upbringing. This twist dramatically changed how viewers saw Garp, initially presenting him as an obstacle for the Straw Hat Pirates as they began their adventures.
I’m so hyped for One Piece Season 2, which is coming out on March 10th! Even before it’s released, the promotional stuff is already hinting at some really cool Easter eggs. We don’t know yet how big these references will be, but knowing how much the people making the show love the original manga and anime, I’m sure everything is intentional and there for a reason.
Confirmed One Piece Season 2 Easter Eggs
The Rumbar Pirates

The latest trailer for the second season of Netflix’s popular series highlights the challenges the Straw Hat crew will face as they enter the Grand Line, including battles with giants and encounters with some shady individuals. The trailer also offers a glimpse of another pirate crew enjoying themselves aboard a mysterious ship.
With so many ships searching for the One Piece, many of those crews are likely just ordinary people hoping to get lucky on the dangerous Grand Line. However, it’s more probable that the singing sailors we saw are the Rumbar Pirates, a crew closely linked to Laboon, the whale who will appear in the second season of the live-action series. In the original story, Laboon becomes friends with a key character, and the live-action show might follow a similar storyline.
Dragon

The world of One Piece isn’t just about Marines and pirates. Groups like Baroque Works, a dangerous criminal organization, will be the primary antagonists in Season 2. But even they aren’t at the top of the food chain, as they also have to contend with the powerful Revolutionary Army and its enigmatic leader, Dragon.
A new image from Netflix suggests that the character Dragon will appear in live-action soon. While we might not learn all of his plans right away, that could actually be a good thing. The show One Piece doesn’t need to reveal everything at once.
Ms. All Sunday

When it comes to prominent members of the organization, Ms. All Sunday is featured most in promotional materials. Her unique ability, derived from a Devil Fruit, makes opponents grow extra limbs and attack themselves, creating a chaotic situation. The Straw Hat Pirates will likely face a tough battle against her, especially since she seems focused on their captain, Luffy.
The marketing for Ms. All Sunday suggests she’s a more complex character than she appears. While longtime One Piece fans are already aware of her destiny, new viewers will have to form their own opinions about her and where her loyalties lie.
Heavy Point Chopper

Fans are most excited to see Tony Tony Chopper join the crew in the next season of One Piece. Since he lives in the distant Drum Kingdom, it will likely be a while before he appears. However, when he does, he’s expected to quickly become a significant character.
The latest trailer for One Piece Season 2, alongside footage of the Rumbar Pirates, shows Luffy battling King Wapol of the Drum Kingdom. In the background, Chopper appears in his powerful, larger Heavy Point form – a stark contrast to his usual adorable self. While Chopper primarily focuses on healing, he can transform into Heavy Point to gain a strength advantage when fighting.
Brogy

Luffy is often at a disadvantage because he’s smaller than his opponents, and that will continue to be a challenge in Season 2. The enemies are getting even bigger, and the latest trailer reveals a giant capturing Nami, seemingly intending to eat her!
If Netflix doesn’t significantly alter its plans, the next major obstacle for Nami and the crew will be Brogy, a powerful warrior from the island of Elbaph and a close friend of Dorry. Because the current storyline in the manga is set on this island, seeing Brogy appear in live-action is particularly important.
