I’m so excited! It’s confirmed that One Piece is coming back to Netflix with Season 2 next year, and the creator has already given us a glimpse of where things are headed with Season 3! From what I understand, the show is really diving into some major storylines – Luffy and the Straw Hats are finally entering the Grand Line! We’re going to see incredible new allies and enemies, and the locations are going to be absolutely epic. But get ready, because Season 3 is apparently going to be even more ambitious!
I was following the Jump Festa 2026 event in Japan this weekend, and Shueisha highlighted a lot of their franchises, including One Piece. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, shared some exciting news: the live-action adaptation is currently filming its third season, and it will conclude the epic Alabasta Saga. He even sent a message to fans confirming this!
Netflix One Piece’s Alabasta Saga to End With Season 3

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, shared his excitement about the show’s second season on Netflix, especially highlighting the adorable Tony Tony Chopper. He predicts fans will fall in love with Chopper just as he has, starting next March. Oda also expressed his hope that viewers will enjoy the new characters and the actors’ portrayals of the Straw Hat crew, particularly Iñaki Godoy and the rest of the cast. He also revealed that filming for Season 3 has already begun and will wrap up the Alabasta arc, promising more to come!
The Alabasta storyline is quite lengthy in the original One Piece manga and anime, so it’s great that the third season will cover it all at once. This arc is particularly important because it marks Luffy and the Straw Hats’ first big adventure in the Grand Line, and it hints at what might happen in future seasons of the live-action show. Now that production is underway on the third season, we’re also learning about new actors joining the cast.
What We Know About Netflix’s One Piece Season 3 So Far

The second season of One Piece will arrive on Netflix on March 10th of next year, bringing new characters as the crew enters the Grand Line. However, fans are especially excited about Season 3, which is currently in development. The Alabasta saga will feature expanded roles for returning voice actors Mikaela Hoover (Tony Tony Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra), who will all be appearing in Season 2. We’ll soon see how their characters play a part in the story.
Season three will welcome Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1, and Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger to the cast. Fans can expect even more new faces as Luffy’s crew encounters the dangerous Baroque Works organization. Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for the new season.
