Netflix’s One Piece Showrunner Teases Season 2’s Biggest Arc

Fans can expect the return of *One Piece* to Netflix with Season 2 of the live-action series sometime next year. One of the show’s creators has hinted that the new episodes will begin a major storyline. Now titled *One Piece Into the Grand Line*, the next season will follow Luffy and his crew as they leave the familiar waters of the East Blue and venture into a larger, more dangerous world. The season will kick off with a particularly important story arc from the original series.

The first arc of the *One Piece* live-action series on Netflix will cover the Loguetown story. This is the last location Luffy and his crew visit in the East Blue before they begin their journey into the Grand Line. Joe Tracz, a writer and executive producer on the show, recently told IGN that this arc is a “perfect” way to kick off the new season, offering fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

Netflix’s One Piece Showrunner Teases Loguetown Arc

According to Tracz, Loguetown, often called ‘the town of the beginning and the end,’ is the ideal location to start the new season. He described it as a city full of history, excitement, and unexpected twists. He hinted that this location will be crucial to the story, serving as the final stop for Luffy and his crew before they embark on the main part of their journey. Tracz explained that Loguetown represents both a goodbye to everything they’ve known and the beginning of a new chapter for the Straw Hats as they head towards the Grand Line.

According to Tracz, the new season will feature a larger world, greater challenges, and more powerful enemies. It kicks off an incredible adventure! Iñaki Godoy, who plays Monkey D. Luffy, also expressed his enthusiasm. He said that during the break between seasons, the cast and crew grew closer, deepened their understanding of the *One Piece* universe, and prepared for the demands of the show. He’s most excited for viewers to see something they’re all incredibly proud of, and promises even more of Luffy’s signature eating habits this season!
