The upcoming game, 007 First Light, will tell the story of how James Bond became 007, showing his early days and rise through the ranks. Players can expect to see a younger, more impulsive, and less experienced Bond than they’re used to. This offers a new perspective on the iconic character and expands the Bond universe, especially as Amazon is also developing a separate, new Bond film.
007 First Light Will Support Xbox Play Anywhere; Optimized for Xbox Rog Ally Handheld
During the Xbox Partner Preview, we got a quick look at 007 First Light. While the demo felt more like a car advertisement than a game, one important detail was overlooked: the game will support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means you can purchase the game once and play it on either your Xbox console or PC, with your progress and achievements syncing between platforms. This is especially great for owners of the Xbox Rog Ally, a handheld gaming device designed to complement the console experience.
IO Interactive has announced that 007 First Light will be optimized for both the Xbox ROG Ally and the upcoming Xbox ROG Ally X, meaning you’ll be able to play it on the go. The game is also coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, offering even more ways to play. While the ROG Ally is more powerful than the Switch 2, it will be interesting to see how the game performs on both. This is great news, as it ensures 007 First Light will be available to a wide audience when it releases in 2026.
