A new game based on the Alien movies is reportedly in development. The Alien franchise is highly respected in the science fiction world, rivaling classics like Star Wars and Star Trek. The original film, a masterpiece by director Ridley Scott, launched a series known for its suspense, thrills, and originality. Both Scott’s film and James Cameron’s sequel were groundbreaking, and the series’ distinctive visual style – a blend of futuristic technology and retro aesthetics – continues to captivate audiences today.
The Alien series, which began around 50 years ago, is still going strong with new projects like TV shows, movies, and video games. Last year’s film, *Alien: Romulus*, revitalized the franchise by returning to its original, suspenseful style, moving away from the more thought-provoking themes of *Prometheus* and *Alien: Covenant*. Due to its success with both audiences and critics, a sequel to *Alien: Romulus* is already planned. The franchise also recently expanded with its first TV series, *Alien: Earth*, which has received mixed reactions from viewers but generally positive reviews from critics.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite Leaked by ESRB

Gamers might be getting a new installment in the *Aliens* series soon. A rating for *Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2* appeared on the Electronic Software Ratings Board (ESRB) website, as reported by IGN, before being taken down. The ESRB rates all games, and their listings often reveal unannounced titles. The game received an ‘M’ rating for Mature due to its depiction of blood, gore, strong language, and violence.
Game ratings usually happen close to a game’s release date. Ratings boards need to see the complete game to accurately assess its content and provide a clear description of sensitive material. Since ratings information for *Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2* has leaked, it suggests the game is not only confirmed, but likely coming out soon. We might see it unexpectedly released at The Game Awards in December, or announced there with a launch planned for early 2026.
Mistakes are rare with the ESRB, but they can happen, so it’s best to wait for an official statement. In the meantime, if you’re looking for something to play, the non-VR version of *Alien: Rogue Incursion* is now available on Xbox and PS5. And if you haven’t tried *Fireteam Elite* yet, it’s a really enjoyable third-person shooter where you fight to survive – similar to *World War Z* – and it’s even better when played with friends. A sequel would be fantastic!
