There’s a lot happening for Batman fans right now, with new projects across film, television, and comics. Fans are excited for Matt Reeves’ *The Batman Part II*, and the *Penguin* series and *Batman: Caped Crusader* are both popular on TV and streaming. Plus, DC Comics recently relaunched the *Batman* comic book. Now, Prime Video is adding another Batman show to the lineup, and it will feature two of the Dark Knight’s most famous enemies.
Amazon’s Prime Video just gave fans a first look at its upcoming animated series, BAT-FAM, arriving in November. The show is a fun, half-hour action-comedy that follows the Batman Family as they face off against classic villains like Ra’s al Ghul and Man-Bat. You can see some initial images of the series below, and it boasts an impressive voice cast too!
As a big fan of the animated DC films, I’m really excited about this new one! It’s actually the second film set in this universe, following the surprisingly great *Merry Little Batman*. The best part is, a lot of the original voice cast is coming back – Luke Wilson as Batman, Yonas Kibreab as Damian, and James Cromwell as Alfred, which is fantastic. But they’re also bringing in some new actors to shake things up, and I’m curious to see who they are!
I’m really excited about the new cast members they’ve added! We’re getting Haley Tju as Claire, London Hughes as Alicia Pennworth, Michael Benyaer taking on Ra’s al Ghul, and even Bobby Moynihan as Man-Bat! Plus, Prime Video gave us a sneak peek at more familiar faces joining the fun – Reid Scott, Natasha Leggero, Diedrich Bader, and Kevin Michael Richardson will all be there, though they’re keeping who they’ll play a secret for now. You can find a full list of the announced cast details below.
The Cast of BAT-FAM
Okay, so seeing Luke Wilson as Batman/Bruce Wayne was really cool! He’s still that super driven, always-trying-to-be-perfect guy we know and love, but now he’s a dad, which is awesome. He even has a beard! It’s fun to see him figuring out family life, but honestly, he’s *still* Batman. That brooding intensity is still there, and you can tell the bad guys in Gotham are still totally terrified of him.
Damian Wayne, also known as Little Batman (played by Yonas Kibreab), is Bruce Wayne’s energetic and incredibly smart son. He enthusiastically throws himself into any situation he believes is right. While he loves the idea of becoming a crime-fighting hero like his father, he’s even more excited about his new family and his dad’s warm affection.
Alfred Pennyworth (played by James Cromwell) is the longtime butler at Wayne Manor. He’s showing his age a little, but now takes on even more responsibility as the steady, fatherly figure for Bruce Wayne, his son Damian, and a host of other new, unusual family members. He’s committed to maintaining Wayne Manor and protecting its reputation as if it were his own.
Claire, played by Haley Tju, used to be the super-villain Volcana. Now, after an incident with the Lazarus Pit turned her into a 12-year-old, she’s under Bruce Wayne’s care. Despite her sarcastic attitude, she’s secretly grown to love her new family and enjoys being a big sister to Damian.
Alicia Pennyworth, played by London Hughes, is Alfred’s grandniece and a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne. She brings a lot of warmth and optimism to Wayne Manor, and she also runs a program called E*Vil where she helps former supervillains get their lives back on track as a social worker.
Ra’s al Ghul, formerly a ruthless criminal leader of the League of Shadows, has become much tamer. A magical accident has left him spectral, and now he mostly wanders Wayne Manor. While he still tries to exert control, he’s far less dangerous and spends a lot of time doting on his grandson, Damian.
Man-Bat, played by Bobby Moynihan, is a strange and messy former scientist who’s now a bat-like creature. He lives in the bell tower of Wayne Manor and spends his time playing video games and looking for food. Despite his odd lifestyle, he often shares his unusual opinions with his family, presenting them as if they were profound wisdom.
What Is BAT-FAM
BAT-FAM is a fun series about Batman, his son Damian (who everyone calls Little Batman), and their butler Alfred. They’re opening up Wayne Manor to new housemates – including Alfred’s grandniece Claire, the changed villain Ra’s al Ghul, and even Damian’s grandfather, Man-Bat! With their cute cat Selina, this unlikely family will juggle everyday life with protecting Gotham City, and it’s sure to be hilariously chaotic.
The Bat-Family will be featured in a panel at New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 11th. The panel will be held in room 405 of the Javits Center from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
