Square Enix has announced they’re working on a new *Dissidia Final Fantasy* game. An official trailer will be released on October 14th at 3 AM Pacific Time. This is the first new game in the series since *Dissidia Final Fantasy NT*, which originally came out in Japanese arcades in 2015 and later on PlayStation 4 in 2018 and PC in 2019.
Take a look at the preview website below to see some of the game’s environments. The trailer suggests the game will continue to focus on team battles, similar to the last installment. The biggest news is that this new *Dissidia* game will only be available on iOS and Android devices – there won’t be a version for PC or consoles.
This isn’t a surprising move, but it’s definitely interesting. The original game came out in 2009 for the PlayStation Portable. Square Enix might be looking to focus on handheld gaming again, and the popular *Final Fantasy* series has plenty of characters that could work well with a free-to-play, collectible character system. We’ll have more information when the trailer is released.
