New Elder Scrolls 6 Details Emerge as Bethesda Confirms a 2nd Memorial Character

Fans have been eagerly awaiting *Elder Scrolls 6* for a long time, and there’s still no official release date in sight. Bethesda hasn’t revealed much about the next game in the series, though rumors continue to circulate. There’s hope that we might see a new trailer at The Game Awards in December, and recently, a small piece of new information about the game was shared.

Details about *The Elder Scrolls 6* are currently very limited – all we officially know is that the game is in development. However, since 2019, there’s been information about at least one character who will appear in the game. Bethesda announced that the well-known *Skyrim* streamer, often called the *Skyrim* grandmother, will be included as an NPC, brought to life through motion capture. Now, a reliable source, The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, suggests another real-life person will be memorialized in the game as well.

Dedicated Elder Scrolls Fan Will Be Memorialized in Elder Scrolls 6

Earlier this year, Bethesda held a charity auction as part of the Make-A-Wish foundation, offering the highest bidder the chance to create a character in the upcoming *Elder Scrolls 6*. The team behind The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages Wiki tried to win the auction to honor a former contributor, Loranna Pyrel, by having her appear in the game. However, another anonymous bidder won. Fortunately, Bethesda has given the Wiki a second opportunity to include Loranna Pyrel in *Elder Scrolls 6*.

Bethesda gave UESP a chance: if they could equal the highest donation amount, they would also get a character included in *The Elder Scrolls 6*. Fans of the Elder Scrolls series quickly stepped up, raising $85,450 to bring a character based on Loranna Pyrel – a popular figure in the community – into the game. UESP announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they’ve already begun working with Bethesda on the character’s design, ensuring it honors Pyrel’s legacy.

We recently met with Bethesda and had the incredible opportunity to help design a character for The Elder Scrolls 6. We were all a little anxious going in, but now we’re incredibly enthusiastic about the future of the game.

Pyrel was famous for creating Loranna’s RP, a popular online roleplaying campaign set in the world of *The Elder Scrolls*. It began after the events of *Morrowind* and led up to the start of *Oblivion*. Because the roleplay was hosted on The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages forum, Pyrel was a highly respected member of that community. Interestingly, the impact of Loranna’s RP extended beyond just the players. Ted Peterson, a developer for *The Elder Scrolls*, visited the forums and actually incorporated some of the ideas from the roleplay into official game lore.

It’s really sad, but Pyrel passed away a few years ago after getting sick. He was a huge fan of Bethesda games, and the community wanted to honor him *in* one of them. Now it’s finally happening! Thanks to generous donations to Make-a-Wish and a cool partnership between Bethesda and UESP, they’re putting an NPC based on Pyrel into *ES6*. He’s actually the second confirmed character for the game, following the ‘Skyrim grandma’ NPC. It’s awesome to see this happen!

While we don’t yet know how important this character will be, including a character based on Pyrel is a lovely way to honor a passionate fan and long-time member of the Elder Scrolls community. This is also the first new information we’ve received about the upcoming game in a while. Hopefully, Bethesda will share more details about *Elder Scrolls 6* soon.
