New England Patriots Cheerleaders Reveal Secrets Before Super Bowl

The New England Patriot cheerleaders are ready for A-C-T-I-O-N.

With the Patriots getting ready to face the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl LV on February 8th, their cheerleaders are prepared to energize the crowd. While the players get most of the attention during games, a lot of work goes into preparing the cheerleaders – not just for the Super Bowl, but for every game.

Patriots cheerleaders Megan Montiero and Lana Vogler shared in a recent interview with People that they arrive at the stadium at least six hours before each game, often being the first staff members to arrive on game day.

We begin practice immediately,” the 22-year-old explained. “We cover everything – from small details during the game to what we’ll do at halftime – we practice it all.

The exciting atmosphere fans experience at games is great, but it’s crucial for the team to be well-prepared.

Okay, so Megan basically said we all get a good basic makeup look down, so we’re usually just fixing things up, you know? But honestly, the BEST part is she said if you’re totally exhausted – like, NEED that extra half hour of sleep – you can just SHOW UP bare-faced and it’s totally cool! She said we have time to do it, which is AMAZING. It’s such a relief knowing we don’t have to be perfect all the time!

Lana warns that it’s important to be prepared and presentable, particularly when you know you’ll be photographed or filmed.

We occasionally film videos, and if you’re asked to be in one when you haven’t had a chance to put on makeup, it can be a bit awkward.

One big key rule to their image is staying consistent with the look that you had at the auditions.

Megan explained that changing her hair color to blonde wasn’t an option for practice. She said she’d be willing to discuss it with the coach, though, if he thought it would benefit the team’s image.

Players with curly hair can switch between wearing it straight or natural for games, and we can get creative with styling. However, we generally stick to the same color and overall appearance.

Fans are excited about the home team, with players like Stefon Diggs, Drake Maye, and Kayshon Boutte. However, despite the hype, these players don’t actually interact with each other very much. I especially like Kayshon Boutte.

We rarely see them during practice because our schedule is when they have days off, meaning we’re not usually at the same location. Occasionally, we’ll appear with players at promotional events – often alumni – but we’re both just there to work, so it’s a professional interaction.

Ultimately, it’s about helping the team succeed and, if possible, becoming an All-Star during your four years with the team.

Megan explained to People that an All-Star is someone who previously performed and can step in if a current performer is injured. This year, she’s thrilled that two of their All-Stars, Allie and Sarah, will be performing with them at the Super Bowl.

As the Patriots and Seahawks cheerleaders energize the crowd, many famous faces also showed their support through commercials. Here’s a preview of the ads you can expect to see during the 2026 Super Bowl…
