A reliable source has revealed some potentially worrying news about the upcoming Far Cry 7. While Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced the next installment in the Far Cry series, it’s widely expected. However, it seems development isn’t going smoothly, and the game might be delayed as a result.
Reporter Tom Henderson says development of Far Cry 7 at Ubisoft is facing significant problems, describing it as “abysmal.” While he didn’t share many details, Henderson noted the game’s direction is changing frequently – almost monthly. He also reported that the next Ghost Recon game is experiencing difficulties, with developers attributing the issues to poor management and planning. This suggests Far Cry 7 may be facing similar challenges.
There’s been talk that Ubisoft might announce Far Cry 7 before the year ends, potentially releasing the game in 2027. That would be six years after Far Cry 6 came out. However, if development is facing the issues one insider suggests, the release date could be delayed – possibly to 2028 or even later.
While the release date is still unknown, it’s almost certain that Far Cry 7 will eventually be released. Far Cry is one of Ubisoft’s most successful franchises – alongside Assassin’s Creed – with previous games like Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, and Far Cry 5 selling incredibly well. Considering this, another installment is virtually guaranteed.
