A free game is now available for PS4 owners on the PlayStation Store. While there isn’t a dedicated PS5 version, you can still play it on PlayStation 5 thanks to backward compatibility. This also applies to the PS5 Pro, but unfortunately, the game won’t have any special improvements for owners of that console.
MY.GAMES has just released its popular online mech shooter, War Robots, on the PlayStation Store for the first time ever. The game has been available on other platforms for years, and now PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro owners can download and play it for free. While the game offers optional in-app purchases, they aren’t necessary to enjoy the experience. Players are already responding positively, giving it a 4.09 out of 5-star rating based on over 300 reviews. It’s worth noting that this version is different from War Robots: Frontiers, which was released on PlayStation in 2025.
PvP Tactical Shooter
Most of the 300+ reviews give the game a perfect five-star rating – around 69% of users feel it deserves that. However, a significant portion, 17%, gave it just one star. Players consistently praise the engaging, moment-to-moment gameplay, saying it’s a lot of fun. The biggest complaint is that the game, while free to play, can feel like you need to spend money to truly succeed. Some reviewers also point out balance problems that become more noticeable as you play longer, which is typical for games that are constantly updated.
War Robots is an online shooter where players control giant robots and battle each other. The game focuses on team-based PvP combat where strategy and positioning are key to winning. Players fight to destroy enemies, capture objectives, and upgrade their robots to become more powerful and demonstrate their skills in the War Robots universe.
