Moon Studios, often linked with Microsoft’s gaming brand, Xbox, is known for its recent games in the highly praised Ori series. These games initially debuted on the Xbox One and eventually became multiplatform releases. However, the upcoming game, the Dark Souls-inspired No Rest for the Wicked, might not be available on Xbox at its launch, as suggested by the developer.
Wow, it looks like No Rest for the Wicked might bypass Xbox, depending on what works best for the platform. Fingers crossed for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 confirmations! I’m left pondering if this means Xbox is leaning more towards being a PC in some way or another. What are your thoughts, fellow gamers?

“In light of the present market trends, it appears we’ll initially launch the game exclusively on PS5 and possibly the upcoming Switch 2. We need to consult with Microsoft regarding potential plans for Xbox,” Mahler mentioned.
The highly anticipated game, “No Rest for the Wicked,” is set to launch on both PC and PS5 platforms. As of now, the PlayStation version’s release date remains undecided, while its page can be found on the PlayStation Store. On the other hand, the PC version is accessible via Steam as an early access game since April 2024. Moon Studios continues to enrich the game with fresh content, with the latest update unveiled just a week ago. The game currently retails for $39.99.
In the year 841 TE, King Harol has passed away, and the devastating Pestilence, a plague of unholy origins long forgotten, has resurfaced. As if things weren’t dire enough, this scourge ravages everything it encounters.
As the ruthlessly ambitious Madrigal Seline, I see in this crisis an opportunity to demonstrate my devotion to my deity. The Pestilence, the Isola Sacra, and I stand at a crossroads where rebellious forces and the provincial administration wrestle for power amidst the crumbling remains of the island’s once-great ruins.
Mahler discussed his ideas on releasing an early version of “No Rest for the Wicked“. Upon launch, the developers expressed nothing but positive sentiments about giving players a sneak peek at the game prior to its formal debut.
As games become increasingly complex and advanced, it’s likely that Early Access will occur more frequently, according to Mahler. Based on our own experience, it would have been impossible for us to release Wicked 1.0 without the wealth of data we now have at our disposal and the direct feedback from actual users, not just a testing group.
Mahler discussed the possibility that Moon Studios might be purchased by a major publishing company, following Microsoft’s announcement about closing down both Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.
Mahler stated, “I experienced the ’90s and witnessed the consequences when smaller production companies were bought by EA. I vow never to let that happen again.
