Even though the final episode of Game of Thrones came out almost seven years ago, the series is still incredibly popular. Recent spin-offs like House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms have helped keep fans interested by adding to the story and world. However, despite the TV show’s ongoing success, a really great Game of Thrones video game has been hard to find. Today, Warner Bros. announced a new game that could finally be what fans have been waiting for.
Warner Bros. recently announced a new mobile strategy game called Game of Thrones: Dragonfire. Many Game of Thrones fans have been hoping for a game like this, and it looks like this free-to-play title will finally give them what they want. The game is based on the world of House of the Dragon and will be available on iOS and Android devices sometime in 2026. Here’s a summary of the details we have so far.
Game of Thrones: Dragonfire Brings Dragons to the Battle for the Seven Kingdoms

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is a new mobile strategy game that’s free to play. It’s set in the world of House of the Dragon and focuses on tactical battles throughout Westeros. The main attraction? You get to control dragons! Players will be able to hatch, raise, and command these powerful creatures in battle. While inspired by the events of House of the Dragon, the game will tell a brand new story. You’ll play as a descendant of Valyria tasked with hatching, raising, and flying dragons.
In Dragonfire, you’ll encounter both returning and brand-new characters as the story unfolds. As dragonriders, you’ll compete for dominance over Westeros. Of course, it wouldn’t be Game of Thrones without political maneuvering! Players can forge alliances and create factions with each other, both during and outside of battles. You can get a preview of the game by watching the official Game of Thrones: Dragonfire announcement trailer.
I’m really excited about this game! It’s all about strategy and training up your dragons as you fight for control of Westeros and the Iron Throne. The battles look awesome – it’s a tile-based system where you have to really think about where you move your troops and, of course, how to use your dragons to your advantage. From what I’ve seen, it’s going to be a totally new way to try and conquer the Seven Kingdoms compared to other Game of Thrones games out there.
If you’re excited about a Game of Thrones game like this, you can sign up now on your favorite platform. Pre-registering through the App Store, Google Play, or the official Game of Thrones: Dragonfire website will give you exclusive rewards and ensure you’re notified as soon as the game is released, letting you jump into battle with your dragons right away.
Currently, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is scheduled to release only on iOS and Android phones and tablets. There are no plans for a PC version yet. The game will be free to play, but you can choose to buy extra items within the game if you want.
