New Game Puts a Pokemon Spin on a Classic (And It’s Out Now)

There are tons of ways to experience Pokemon now, with many mobile games and major releases like Pokemon Pokopia and the soon-to-launch Pokemon Champions available on various devices. However, fans always appreciate fresh perspectives on Pokemon, particularly those that offer a break from screens. Today, Hasbro launched a new tabletop game that reimagines a classic board game with a Pokemon theme, bringing a nostalgic experience to fans.

Good news for Pokémon and Guess Who? fans! A Pokémon version of the classic guessing game is available now. Guess Who? Pokémon Edition takes the game you remember from 1982 and gives it a Pokémon twist. It’s a fun way for longtime fans of both franchises to enjoy a new, screen-free experience.

Classic Board Game Guess Who? Just Launched a Pokemon Edition

If you’ve never played Guess Who? before, or it’s been a while, it’s a really fun and easy game! Basically, you and your opponent each have a board full of faces, but you can only see your own. You take turns asking questions – things like ‘Is your person male?’ – to try and figure out which character they picked. As you eliminate possibilities, you flip those character cards down. It’s simple, but honestly, it’s surprisingly addictive! And now, they’ve given the classic game a Pokemon makeover, which is awesome!

The Guess Who? Pokemon Edition game includes 48 different Pokemon characters. It updates the classic game board with a foldable design for easy carrying. Gameplay is similar to traditional Guess Who? – players each select a Pokemon and take turns asking questions to figure out their opponent’s choice. The game boards are double-sided and feature 8 different Pokemon types, adding variety to each game.

The product photos show Pokemon from various generations, not just the original Kanto region. We can see newer additions like Espurr and Alcremie, as well as the starters from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, alongside classic favorites such as Pikachu and Flareon. The game allows for different levels of detail – you can delve into complex Pokemon history for dedicated fans, or keep things straightforward for newcomers.

I’m always looking for fun, easy games for family night, and the new Guess Who? Pokemon Edition looks awesome! It’s super simple to set up, which is great when you’ve got kids involved – this one’s for ages 6 and up, and it’s best with two players. Guess Who? is already a classic, and honestly, who wouldn’t want to play with a Pokemon theme? I saw it on Amazon for $24.99, so I might have to grab it!
