Lamorne Morris is hoping for a new girl in his life. 

If Damon Wayans Jr. gets his wish, his former New Girl co-star Nasim Pedrad—who played Aly and married his character Winston on the show—will be his pick.

Lamorne spontaneously asked Nasim out while they were recording their New Girl rewatch podcast, The Mess Around, with Hannah Simone.

Okay, so this just popped up on my feed, and it’s pretty direct! A woman, 42 years old, publicly announced on TikTok that she’s planning to date someone named Nasim. She actually repeated it – she’s going to date Nasim, and seems to be looking for her! It’s a bold move, and definitely a unique way to put it out there!

Hannah strongly encouraged her cohost to do it, saying people have been hoping and wanting this for a while now.

Although the 45-year-old urged Lamorne to “ask her on a real date.”

Lamorne decided he wanted to date Nasim for real and called her to say so. He told her, “I just thought, why not date you in real life? What’s going on?”

The Saturday Night Live alum responded, “Are you talking about now? Or back then?”

The Fargo actor quickly clarified he meant right now, and then asked, “Are you seeing anyone? I just ran into you recently, and you seemed to be single.”

Lamorne, who has a 5-year-old daughter named Lily, playfully suggested they skip dating altogether and just become a couple, since they’d already been going on dates as friends for a while.

“You’re overthinking things, Nasim,” Lamorne said. “So, I’m asking you out. I’m really busy right now, and don’t have a lot of free time, but I’ll find a way to make it happen.”

Okay, seriously, when Lamorne just asked Nasim out like that, on the spot?! I almost died! And she said YES! She totally said, ‘I’m down! Let’s go on a date!’ I was screaming! It was the most amazing thing ever, and I’m living for this potential romance!

The 44-year-old playfully asked, “So, are you going to tell me about the women you’ve connected with on Raya? It feels like that’s all we talk about lately!”

It’s still uncertain whether they’ll actually go on a date in person, but Hannah is excited about the idea.

She playfully observed that they should definitely start dating, amazed that his terrible attempt at asking her out somehow worked. She pointed out they had a genuine connection, were a good match in age, and that she was attractive and independent – a great combination!

Lamorne and Nasim prefer to keep their romantic relationships private, but Lamorne has openly shared that he doesn’t like mind games or manipulation in a relationship.

He told Glamour in 2016 that he believes in total freedom. ‘There are no rules,’ he said. ‘Just do whatever feels right to you. If something appeals to me, great. If not, that’s okay too. When relationships become about games or manipulation, they lose their meaning. If you want to reach out, just do it!’
