As fans wait to learn who will be the next James Bond in the upcoming film, a new James Bond video game is in development, and the actor playing 007 in the game has described the experience as “surreal.”
We probably won’t know who the next James Bond will be for a while – possibly until next year – as the search continues for the actor Denis Villeneuve and Amazon choose. However, actor Dexter Fletcher is currently playing Bond in the new video game, 007 First Light. In a recent interview, Fletcher shared his experience of seeing himself as the iconic character in the game.
It was already a bit surreal seeing a character based on me, but when I realized it looked like James Bond… wow, that was something else! Honestly, I was really surprised by how much the likeness captured me – I didn’t anticipate it would look so much like me.
The new James Bond in First Light strongly resembles the actor known for his role in the Dexter prequel, and fans quickly figured out his identity. Joining him is a talented cast including Priyanga Burford (Industry, No Time to Die) as M, Lennie James (The Walking Dead) as John Greenway, Kiera Lester (Maigret) as Moneypenny, Alastair Mackenzie (Andor) as Q, Noémie Nakai (Tokyo Vice) as Miss Roth, and Gemma Chan (Eternals) as Dr. Selina Tan. 007 First Light will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2 starting March 27, 2026.
