The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen is quickly approaching its ending, and a recent announcement from Shueisha has fans anticipating the finale of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. While the original Jujutsu Kaisen series concluded in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2024, creator Gege Akutami surprised everyone last year with a continuation of the story. Working with artist Yuji Iwasaki from Cipher Academy, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo shows what the world of curses looks like decades after the events of the first series.
The latest chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen have focused on Yuji Itadori, suggesting the story is heading towards its finale. Now, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has announced that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will have three weeks of color pages in a row – a significant event for any manga in the magazine, and a strong indication that the sequel is about to end.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Might Be Ending in Four More Chapters

After the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 22 this weekend, fans will be treated to a special full-color page for chapters 23, 24, and 25. This is a rare occurrence in Shonen Jump magazine, usually reserved for very popular series or major milestones. It seems the magazine is acknowledging the approaching end of the story, which aligns with creator Gege Akutami’s earlier hint that this series would be shorter than the original Jujutsu Kaisen.
When Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, announced the sequel series, he explained it would be brief – lasting around three manga volumes. He estimated this would take about six months to complete, unless the series was cancelled. This meant fans could expect only 5-6 months of new chapters, as each physical volume typically contains 7-8 chapters.
When Will Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo End?

If Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo finishes in the next four chapters, the final issue could arrive around March 8th, assuming the current release schedule stays on track. The series would then consist of 25 chapters total, easily fitting into three collected volumes. The first volume, covering the initial seven chapters, was a huge success in Japan, and the remaining chapters would naturally divide into two more volumes. This aligns with Akutami’s original plan for the series’ length, and everything seems to be falling into place.
The story is nearing its conclusion, and with Yuji’s return – now a godlike figure decades after the original series ended – Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is setting up its final events. It’s hard to predict how the story will end, as this sequel has been full of surprises.
